Mother’s Day(Second Sunday in May)
On the second Sunday in May, British children of all ages treat their mothers to something special. It is the one day out of the year when children, young and old, try to show how much they love and appreciate their mothers.

Pirates and princesses, ghosts and witches all hold bags open to catch the candy or other goodies that the neighbors drop in.

Another traditionally American holiday is Thanksgiving Day which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. It has been celebrated since the 17th century, when the English colonists decided to celebrate the end of the first year in America and to give thanks to God. They invited the local Indian chief and ninety Indians. The Indians brought deer to roast with the turkeys. To this first Thanksgiving, the Indians had brought popcorn.
