Araki spent his childhood in Sendai with his parents and younger twin sisters. Araki was very annoyed by the sisters' noisy behavior, so he retired to his room, enthusiastically reading Ai to MakotoW manga, as well as looking through his father's art albums.
Araki drew his first manga when he was in fourth grade.
He attended prep school where a friend complimented him on a manga he drew for the first time. Since then, he began to draw manga in secret from his parents.
