Some information about me   My name is Ushakova Diana. I’m 13. I study at gymnasium №1, 6A grade. I’m a curious pupil. I study singing, writing poetry, sewing, modeling and displaying fashion collections of clothes, crafts and fine arts since my childhood. I can't imagine my life without creativity. Almost from an early age I am on the stage, which has become my integral part of life. English plays a very important role in my life. For example, a Japanese girl came to us for an exchange last year. And I spent a lot of time speaking with her. I also like to read. Basically it is modern literature, but I am fond of a classical one. I also like traveling. Maybe it’s not polite but I want to show off. I have a lot of diplomas, certificates and letters of thanks, among them there is the Governor's scholarship, the Diploma of the best student of the Year of the Center for Aesthetic Education of Children of Pleasure, the Diploma of the 3rd degree to the winners of the 7th interdisciplinary scientific and practical city conference "Step into Science" of the section "Mathematics" Diploma of the first degree to the winner of the International exhibition of arts and crafts "Talents of the young to the beloved city" in the nomination "Decorative and Applied Arts", the diploma of the 2 nd degree among the schools of European countries and the Russian

  Tim Vicary is an experienced teacher and writer, and has written several stories for the Oxford Bookworms Library. Many of these are in the Thriller & Adventure series, such as White Death or, like Grace Darling, in the True Stories series, such as The Coldest Place on Earth, which tells the story of the race between Scott and Amundsen to the South Pole. He has also published two long novels, The Blood upon the Rose and Cat and Mouse. About the author  Tim Vicary has two children and keeps dogs, cats and horses. He lives in York, in the north of England.

Plot   On the afternoon of 6th September, the steamship Forfarshire began its journey from Hull to Dundee, in Scotland. But the ship was wrecked: the engine refused and a violent storm started. The Darling family worked and lived at the lighthouse. William and his daughter Grace Darling saved more than a dozen people during the storm. Life and death, love and hatred, support and carelessness…….are basic things in the novel.

Problem and relevance   Grace Darling is a true story that happened to a twenty- three-year-old girl, her father and the crew of Forfarshire. The story reminds people that there are always people who can help in desperate situations. The book portrays the heroes of that time, because Grace didn’t even think about what she would have to do, she always knew that she had to save people.

Main characters   I think, all their actions were clear, confident and brave. William Darling: kind, decisive, brave, strong. Grace Darling: brave, watchful, sure, kind.

 A book can be a star,a living fire to lighten the darkness  I woud recommend the teens to read this book, no matter what age they are where they live, it does not matter what language they need to read it. From this book I got only the best impression. The story of courage and humanism is simple in the book. I believe, , our human soul, does not care who they are: friends or enemies and usually help them.

Conclusion   In conclusion, I want to say that everyone is obliged to remember people like Grace Darling who are risking their lives and are ready to help people in difficult situations.
