Present Participle vs  Past Participle

 

Exercise A. Underline the participles in the following sentences. Write if they Present or Past.

 

1.      Singing birds are shown in the Annual Bird Show in our town. ______

2.      The galloping horse scared the child. ______

3.      The lorry was carrying stolen goods. ______

4.      Rolling stones gather no moss. ______

5.      Be careful with all that broken glass! ______

6.      Barking dogs are not always dangerous. ______

7.      I don’t want that burnt toast. ______

8.      It was the unknown factors that made the problem difficult. ______

9.      A swinging gate kept me awake all night. ______

10.  The climber was found lost and half-frozen two days later. _______
