Приветствие.

T: Good morning, children!

T: Glad to meet you. How are you?

T: I am OK, thanks. You see children; we have a lot of quests today. They all are the English language teachers. Let’s greet them.

T: Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson.

Беседа с дежурным. Who is on duty today? Who is absent? What is the date today? What day of the week is today? What season is it now? What is the weather like today?

     Cl: Good morning, guests. We hope you are well today

T: Children, do you want to know about the weather in the capital of England? We have a chance! Look at the on- line picture. Now you are in London on Abbey Road.  Answer, please, what is the weather like in London today?

-        Is it rainy?

-        Is it sunny or cloudy?

-        Is it windy?

-        Is it warm or cold?

Cl: Yes, we do.

Cl: It is cold in London.

Cl: Yes, it is.

Cl:  It is cloudy.

Cl: Yes, it is.

Cl:  It is cold.

T: OK, we are ready to start our lesson. Look at the picture. Could you tell me, what will be our topic of the lesson today?

T: You are quite right. The subject of our lesson is “Faces of London”.

Задачи: - Is this topic important for your studying? 

What will we do at the lesson?

How will we work at the lesson?

Cl: - I think the topic of the lesson is “London”.

Cl: - I suppose we will speak about the sights of London

Cl: - To my mind the theme of the lesson is London and its people.

Cl: - As I think we will discuss the capital of the UK.

Cl: In my opinion, we will work in pairs (group, all together, individually)

T: Today we will discover places of interest in London. Before watching the film tell me, what about is this film. What do you think about it?

T: Now, it is time to watch a film. The film is about Britain, especially London. After watching you will name the main places of interest in London .

T: We ’d like to start our lesson with the words by Samuel Johnson : “Who doesn’t like London, doesn’t like life itself”. This is the motto of the lesson. Let’s translate it. 

T: Please, think during the lesson what do these words mean?

Cl: I think  we will see the places of interests.

Cl: The main places of interest are the Tower of London, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, St Paul Cathedral, Tower Bridge, London Eye.

Cl: «Кто не любит Лондон, не любит саму жизнь».

Cl: All right. We will think about it.

T: As you know London is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It has a lot of interesting historical and modern places to visit. At first, let’s see some of them.

Match the name and the picture.

Cl: It is the Tower of London.

It is a Houses of Parliament.

Т: On your tables you can see the sheets of paper. Please, write down as much facts connected with London as you know.

T: Can you find information about it? . The first group will find information about Westminster Abby in the textbook, the second group will find the information about Big Ben in the Internet. The third group use a cultural guide.

Cl: We can find information in the Internet, in our textbook, in a cultural guide.

Заключительный этап урока. (Conclusion)

  T: As you can see, London is a great historical and cultural centre of the country. It is one of the largest and the most interesting cities in the world. You have got a lot of interesting and useful information about sights of London. There is so much to see in London that even Londoners can always find new places of interest in their capital. They like to say: “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life”.
