IV)  My Favourite Band

1) My name is___________. I am 17. I am from Russia. My native town is …Yekaterinburg. I am a student of Sverdlovsky College of Art and Culture. I’d like to tell you about my favorite band. My favourite band is “Linkin Park”. It is an American rock band from California. This band is rather popular among the teens nowadays. They sing in different styles. Some of their songs are alternative, some are metal, some rock. They have clever texts and unusual musical decisions. The band was formed in 1999.They have 9 albums. He band consists of six men: Chester Bennington, David Farell, Rob Burdon, Bred Delson, Joe Hahn, and Mike Shinoda. Their songs are rather moving. One can see true feelings of happiness or sorrow in them. They can even make you think of global problems. All members of my favourite band participate in charity. My favourite song is “Breaking the habits”. “Linkin Park” is a wonderful band. I like it very much.

 My favorite band is Little Big. This is a Russian band, but it is popular all over the world. Their YouTube videos are getting tens of millions of views.

The band members definitely have a good sense of humor. In their videos, they make fun of various stereotypes. Looking at their rhythmic dancing, people immediately want to start dancing too. That is why their video clips are becoming hits.

I especially like to dance to the song "Skibidi". It’s my favorite song.

The group's founder is Ilya Prusikin. He was born in 1985 in the Chita region. His career was not very successful until the age of 27. He even was unemployed. However, he did not give up his dream and continued to experiment.

Now the group consists of four members. Besides Ilya, regular members of the group are Sergey Makarov, Anton Lissov and Sofia Tayurskaya. Olimpia Ivleva was also the group member until 2018.

V)  Music

My name is___________. I am 17. I am from Russia. My native town is …Yekaterinburg. I am a student of Sverdlovsky College of Art and Culture. I’d like to tell you about music.

 Music plays an important role in my life. I can’t live without music. There are so many kinds of music: rap, hip-hop, rock-n-roll, dance, classical, opera, alternative, drum & bass, techno, rock, metal, jazz, reggae, blues and so on. I like all these types. When I’m sad I listen to alternative music or rock. When I’m happy I listen to hip-hop or dance music. Sometimes I listen to classical music or operas. When there is disco or when I am in a good mood, I like dancing at rap and techno music. At the moment my favourite band is “Linkin Park”. I love their songs and listen to them every week. The band was formed in 1996 in California. There are six people in the band. The most talented of all is Chester Bennington. Although I like all their songs and albums, my favourite are “Skin to Bone” and “Breaking the habits”. Speaking of British music, I enjoy “The Beatles”. I think their music will never die as it’s legendary. Reggae is another style I follow and my favourite singer in this style is Bob Marley. To sum up, I’d like to say that music influence people greatly. It can inspire and enrich them. Music is not only another art form but a powerful force, which helps people to live and to be happy.

My favorite room is my own room. It has got a large bed, a wardrobe and a bookcase. The bed is in the corner of the room. The desk is at the window. There is a computer, a printer on it.  The wardrobe is near the wall. In the living room, we have a sofa, a TV set, two armchairs, a bookcase and a carpet on the floor. We like to sit in our living room in the evenings and speak with each other. My kitchen is very comfortable: there is cold and hot water, a gas stove, a dish-washer, a mixer.
