Тема: «Doing chores» (підтема «Setting the table») Цілі: ­    практикувати в  мовленні тематичну лексику; вчитися працювати в групах; вчити бути соціально пристосованим до життя; ­ ­ ­ розвивати слухову пам'ять, увагу, фонематичний слух,  ­ розвивати вміння логічно мислити; ­ розвивати навички комунікативного спілкування; ­ виховувати культуру спілкування та комунікативну співпрацю. Learning outcome: на кінець уроку учні мають: знати як правильно накрити стіл; вірно робити вибір; ­ ­ ­ робити висновки; ­ ­ трансформувати в мовленні Present Simple у Present Continuous; ставити питання і давати відповіді. Обладнання: прислів’я, handouts, скатертина, посуд, чай, цукор, цукерки,  серветки, плакат «Don’t live for eating, but eat for living!» (Ми живемо не для  того, щоб їсти, а їмо для того, щоб жити). Setting the table Warming up: 1. Have you ever stayed at home without mother? 2. Who has helped you to set the table? Can you set the table? 3. What settings do you need to set the table? I. Listen to me. If you hear words of the place settings – clap your hands    Hungry, a plate, a glass, to be thirsty, a cup, a fork, a vase, a  tablecloth, napkins, kitchen, a spoon, a teaspoon, a knife, a teapot, a  doll.   e v i t p e c e R   II. Name place settings beginning with the letter: e v i t c u d o r P s i c r e x e e    C – a cup    F – a fork    S – a spoon          a saucer    N – a napkin K – a knife G – a glass T – a tablecloth        a teapot P – a plate Game «Be attentive» Handout №1 You’ve got a list of words. Choose and write down the words connected with  setting the table for tea. I group – napkins, a plate for cake, salt, sugar basin, glasses, teaspoons, forks,  saucers, cups, wine glasses. II group –choose odd words. Handout №2 Choose what word doesn’t belong: 1.  Tea, a cup, a plate, a knife. 2. Sugar, coffee, a cup, a glass. 3. Napkins, a table cloth, a frying­pan. Handout №3 Find hidden words: Tea|ph|cup|ko|table|in|spoon|fork|bn|napkin|zz|plate|glass. So, you can set the table. Now, match right position of the settings on the table. Let’s repeat locative prepositions. Take your cup and a teaspoon. Put the napkin to the left of the plate. (T) h) Work in groups (Textbook O.Karpiuk, Form 7, P.74­76) i) Your friend is going to have six guests. He doesn’t know how to lay the  table. For tea­party it is important to set the table correctly. Give  instructions for him.  j) Task  I (Pupils must write instructions) 1. Put the tablecloth on the teatable. 2. Take 6 napkins and put them to the left of 6 saucers. 3. Put 6 cups on the saucers. 4. Place 6 teaspoons to the right of the cups. 5. Put the sugar basin and the teapot in the centre of the table. 6. Put the cake, the lemon, candies in the centre of the table. k) Task II                               Some Grammar l) The Present Continuous Tense describes an action which is happening at  the Present moment m)To be + Verb + ing n) Change the Present Simple in the Present Continuous: o) to put – putting p) to set –  q) to eat –  r) to drink –  s) to prepare –  t) to take –  v) So, the Student 1 from the first group must repeat instructions which were u) Game «Stop» written by the group №2 and Do as they say (using place settings) ­ Put the tablecloth on the teatable… w) In any time the Student 2 from the other group may say STOP and ask : x) «What are you doing?» ­ I am putting… and so on. y) Now you know how to set the table correctly. z) But it is very useful proverb aa)Handout №4 Welcome is the best dish on the table. ab) ac)(Гостинність – найкраща страва на стіл) I propose you to discuss it in your groups. ad) ae)May be you know some good Table Manners with the names of place  setting. af)Good Rules to remember If you eat meat, eat it with a fork and a knife. ­ ­ Have a fork in your left hand and a knife in your right hand. ­ Never put a knife into your mouth. ­ Never eat with a spoon those things that you must eat with a fork. ­ If you want to have a cup of tea, don’t drink it out of the saucer, drink it  out of the cup. ag) Children, I say «Thank you» for your work and you must  remember: Always you should say «Thank you» after the meal ah)
