YOUR  PEOPLE, MY SWEET  TOWN                                           I adore wandering my town places                                           And look at my country­men’s faces.                                           I’m touched by kindness of my people,                                            And struck by their hypocrisy a little                    As you know Belorechensk is considered to be a multinational town. The population of my hometown is approximately 60,000 people. We are a huge ethnic and social “melting pot” of Russians, Ukrainians, Kurds, Tartars, Gypsies, Jews, Armenians, Azerbaijani, Adygheis and others. In Belorechensk you can be struck by kindness of people’s soul. And you can be also touched of their generosity. As for  me I’m  dazzled  that  my people are sociable,  hardworking and hospitable. Welcome to my town! And we traditionally present our guests with offering of bread and salt. It is not surprising that Belorechensk is the land of prominent and creative people in different spheres of economy and culture. As a testimony of it may serve different exhibitions, fares, and festivals of labour, art and culture, which are held in   our   town   annually.     8   persons   are   Honourable   Citizens   of   Belorechensk. Hadezhda   Kuznetsova,   Ivan   Usenko,   Zoya   Fyodorovna   Dolbnyova   are   among them. Belorechensk is widely known for its literature and art. Alexander Mishchic, Vadim Nepodoba, Valeri Komolev are famous in our town. A. Mishchic wrote books about people of Kuban, their love and work. Poetry of V.Nepodoba, V. Komolev   is   closely   connected   with   Russia,   Kuban   and   Belorechensk.   They describe the people’s soul and a national character. It is interesting to know our architect Nikolai Pshenichnikov made a design of our town coat of arms (emblem). A very talented artist of Russia Vladimir Vtorenko studied at school № 68, lives and works in our provincial town. The artist   illustrated   60   books,   created   30   posters,   11   films   for   children.   His illustrations to the book “Adventures of Pinocchio” are well known to our readers. People associate Kuban with the image of Cossacks, folk songs and chanted rhymes. No wonder Belorechensk is a centre of Cossack folk songs, rites in the Krasnodar Land. Professional and amateur folk ensembles, companies are popular in many places of our district and country. Audience always gives a big hand to “Mazury”, “Ljubo” and other folk ensembles. They give successfully Cossack spirited performances in the villages and towns of the Krasnodar Land. Do you know the fact that Belorechensk is a host town of folk festivals every year? And one of the most popular folk musicians and composers of Belorechensk is Vladimir Popov. He creates songs that are regularly performed today. For my own part I’m proud of my country people. And you?
