My town Ust-Kut

1.I live in Ust-Kut. 2.This is my home town. 3.It is on the Lena and on the Kuta rivers.

4.My town is small but very nice.5.I like to walk along the streets of my town with my parents or friends.6.Ust-Kut is an ancient town.

7.It was founded in 1631 by Siberian Cossack ataman Ivan Galkin. 8.Ivan Galkin built an ostrog (fort) there.

9.Mineral springs were discovered in the 17th century by Yerofey Khabarov. 10.A spa was built here in 1925.

11.In the 20th century Ust-Kut was as a destination for political exiles, for example, Leon Trotsky.12.In 1951, the railway from Tayshet reached Ust-Kut.

13.Ust-Kut was granted town status in 1954.14.The town became the section of the BAM (Baikal–Amur Mainline) in 1974.

15. Population is 40 783 чел. (2020).16. There are many shops, schools, cafes, supermarkets, houses in my hometown.17. There is a cinema, a theatre and a river station in our town.

18. My hometown has got a swimming pool, a hospital, a library, a museum.19. I like my town.20. I invite you to come and see my hometown.
