The Great Patriotic War is heroic and bright, but at the same time it is heavy and bloody page of our history. This year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. Have we the right to forget this war? If we forget it, we’ll promote the unleashing of new ones. But the human memory puts the barrier in struggle against the new wars. The common people did the best to forge the great victory. An example is my great-grandfather Utyamishev Ishbuldy Khasanovich.

O n April 1, 1942, he joined the army and went to the front and served in the Soviet Army till December 1945. From the beginning of his service he was the assistant of political leader of  artillery battery on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War , the commander of the battery in 516 shooting regiment of the Ukrainian Front. He was twice wounded in the head and leg.

 His first fight was near Voronezh in early June 1942. In a grove "Death" grove near Voronezh he rescued a wounded comrade and drew him to the village. After heavy fighting, their military brigade was sent to Tambov military camps . He met KE Voroshilov there. They released the cities of Belgorod, Kharkov, Poltava.My great- grandfather took part in crossing the Dnieper, and the October holiday, they celebrated in the released Kiev. Afterthat it was Zhitomir, then he took part in the battles of Sandemir, they crossed the Vistula, and finally they came to Berlin. He participated in the preliminary bombardment, but he hadn’t been to the city. Their brigade was sent to a breakthrough in another area, where a meeting with the American troops on the Elbe River was organized. After that, their brigade was directed at the elimination of the Prague German forces. when Moscow celebrated the victory over the enemy, After that he returned home.

He was awarded the order of "Red Star" and several medals.

The participants of the Great Patriotic War are the wealth of our country and they should be treated with great care and respect. My great-grandfather is dead now . The difficult years of life and injuries have been played their role.
