My Native Place
Every Russian thinks of himself as having not just one rodina (native land) but two — Russia as a whole and some little place of it where he was born.
I think that a motherland is not all your country, but it is your home place. And I would like to tell you about my native place.
Rayon was founded in 1926 and it was named Nizhnetombovsk rayon. In 1932 it was renamed to Komsomolsk because Komsomolsk-on-the Amur was an administrative center. Komsomolsk rayon has become the part of Khabarovsk Krai since 1939. In 1962 Amursk rayon and in 1977 Solnechny rayon went out from Komsomolsk rayon.

A beneficial geographic location, large reserves of minerals, a developed transport network give every ground for the rayon’s success in economy. The rayon has a long rich history and multi-cultural tradition.
Vast forest resources are a support to forestry, it’s main industry. Shelekhovsky KLPH Private JSC, Yasen LLC, Snezhnoye LLC, Magma LLC, Komsomolsky KLPH Public JSC, Gur LLC demonstrate a good rate of operational success.
The leading construction companies are Komsomolsky bridge building company, DSU (construction unit)-4, DRSU (construction and road repair unit), PMK-83 Public JSC (mobile mechanized unit).
Agricultural companies produce 1.5 thud tons milk, 200 tons meat and 4 thud vegetables a year. The Komsomolsky rayon became the krai leader for the production of fish, potato and vegetables in 2000.
The rayon administration in its policies sets a priority of educating the younger generation and the breakthrough in this sphere is a true pride. The rayon is rich in arts and culture. Different rayon sports contests are held on an annual basis.
The biggest achievement of the Komsomolsky rayon is its people who are doing their best for it to become one of the best in the krai.
The rayon administration is doing its best for the further development of rayon’s settlements: the new roads are being built, a new school was built in the settlement Nizhne-Tambovskoe, etc.
There are many ecological problems in our krai connected with air, water and land pollution, deforestation and endangered species.
Climate
Winter is cold. The wind blows It often snows. But the children like to play snowballs and make a snowman.
