HISTORY OF HIP HOP

For many of us, hip-hop is associated with a rather specific dance music, and therefore it seems to us that this dance direction has appeared quite recently.

But in reality, hip-hop began to emerge back in the 70s of the last century in the quarters of the Bronx, and we are talking about the emergence of not only dance, but also such forms, at that time, of social protest as graffiti, breaking, Djing, etc. Etc., in general, a lot of what stood out from the general ideas about culture and art.

Hip-hop is officially believed to have appeared in 1979, and this event is associated with the release of the single "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang. A distinctive feature of the new musical style was the imposition of recitative on dance music, funk or disc, as well as the emergence of a completely new dance, which differs from all others, first of all, by the freedom of movement, the absence of any strict restrictions.

The golden era "of hip-hop" refers to the period from 1986 to 1993, when this style did not easily become known in the world, it became an icon of its time, a symbol of advancing progress. Representatives of all genders and ages were fond of hip-hop, regardless of their social and material status.

At the same time, the constituent elements of the subculture are finally formed, including music and dance. We are talking about a number of basic movements that literally everyone who is trying to realize themselves in this dance should know. Today, elements of hip-hop, one way or another, are present in almost all club dance styles.
