Until recently man has dealt mainly with various problems of science and technology, side effects were neglected. The question arises why so much importance is attached to the problems of environmental protection, why it is considered one of the crucial troubles nowadays. It is well known that since the early days of his existence man has been destroying the nature surrounding him.
Nobody can deny that pollution is the most dangerous side effect of human activity. It is causing global changes in the deterioration of the biosphere. The nature of the process is not clear and the amount of damage is still uncertain because of the lack of sufficient information. But it goes without saying that the solution of the problem depends to a great extent on the joint efforts of scientists all over the world.
