Student: I would recommend to my friend a film called «Titanic» “Harry Potter” because I think the plot is exciting and the actors are brilliant. Holidays
I’d like to talk about holidays. Russian people love holidays. We usually celebrate them with a lot of food and presents.
There are three types of holidays in Russia. They are family holidays, state or public holidays and religious holidays. Family holidays include birthdays, weddings and others. State or public holidays in Russia include Constitution Day, New Year's Day, Women's Day, May Day, Victory Day and Russia Day. Religious holidays include Christmas, Easter, Maslenitsa (Shrovetide) and others. The most popular holidays are New Years’ Day, Victory Day and Maslenitsa.
My favourite holiday is New Year’s Day. We decorate a New Year tree with colourful toys and glass balls. Also, we cook a lot of delicious dishes and buy presents. At midnight we exchange presents and set off fireworks. It’s a really wonderful holiday.
As for presents, I prefer to give presents. I like making people feel happy and sharing my love and joy.
All in all, holidays are a great way to have a good time with your family and friends. That’s all.

People keep pets because they are good for lonely people and children. They bring us joy and happiness and they help people relax.

I’d like to tell you about films. I think they help us relax and spend a good time. Modern teenagers prefer watching horror and science-fiction films, comedies and thrillers.
As for me, I’m a cinema-goer and I enjoy watching films. I usually watch movies in the cinema because there is a big screen and there are special effects. Also, I can meet my friends and have fun together.
- As for me, I prefer watching films on the Net because I can choose any film I wish, stop and continue watching any time I want.
- As for me, I prefer watching films on TV because it’s free of charge and it’s very comfortable.
My favourite film is Avatar [ævəˈtɑː]. It’s a 3D science-fiction film. It’s about an ex-marine [məˈriːn] (бывший морской пехотинец), Jack, who goes to planet Pandora and becomes an avatar, a human mind in an alien body. I think the plot is very gripping and the characters are well-developed. The cast are superb, the music is great and the special effects are amazing. I’m sure it’s a must-see for everybody. All in all, cinema is a great form of art. People love watching films and I’m not an exception. That’s all.
