England captivates with its harmonious combination of ancient history and natural beauty: majestic castles and ancient abbeys are seamlessly integrated into the picturesque landscapes.

Cardiff Castle (Wales)

Located in the capital of Wales. The history of the castle is almost 2 thousand years old: the first fort on this site was built by the Romans, the first stone fortress was built by the Normans, and the final look of the interiors was given by a coal magnate in the 19th century. Inside there is a museum dedicated to history and archaeology.

Tower Bridge

A drawbridge over the Thames in London, built in the 19th century. Its two 65-meter towers and a gallery-passage at a height of 44 meters attract tourists. Between the towers there is a museum and an observation deck, which can be climbed by a staircase of 300 steps.

Edinburgh Castle

One of the most popular attractions in Scotland. Located on the top of Castle Rock in Edinburgh. Inside the fortress, there are museums, halls, and observation decks overlooking the city. The Scottish Regalia, including the crown, scepter, and sword of state, are kept here.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a megalithic structure (cromlech) in Wiltshire, about 130 km southwest of London, 13 km north of Salisbury. It consists of circular and horseshoe-shaped structures made of large stones and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.

The Giant's Road (Northern Ireland)

A natural formation on the coast of Northern Ireland, consisting of about 40 thousand hexagonal columns, which arose as a result of volcanic activity 50-60 million years ago

Big Ben

The name of the tower and the bell is shrouded in legends. According to one version, Big Ben was named after Sir Benjamin Hall, a civil engineer and politician who oversaw the later stages of the Parliament buildings' reconstruction and supervised the installation of the bell. His contemporaries referred to him as "Big Ben" due to his impressive height.

Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is the main church of Great Britain, where British monarchs have been crowned since the 11th century. Many monarchs are buried here, as well as Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Geoffrey Chaucer, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, and other historical figures.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the British monarchs. It includes 775 rooms, including 19 state rooms, 52 royal and guest rooms, 188 staff rooms, and 92 offices. The palace also has 17 hectares of gardens.

Tips for visiting

In London, don't miss Trafalgar Square with Nelson's Column and the National Gallery, as well as Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard.

In Edinburgh, it's worth walking along the Royal Mile, a street that stretches from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace.
For nature lovers, there are national parks in Scotland (Loch Lomond and Trossachs, Cairngorms) and Wales (Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire Coast, Brecon Beacons).
