Holidays and traditions The relevance of this topic is that, in fact we celebrate holidays, but we don't know the origin of these holidays. The purpose of the research work is to expand knowledges about amazing world. Performing this project in English, I also set a goal to improve my vocabulary. The task is to get acquainted with the history of the holidays, to form a sense of respect, tolerance to other Nations, to compare customs and traditions in Russia and Britain, to analyse the similarities and differences. Every Nation has it's own customs and traditions. Britain differs from our country. Traditions play an important role in Brits' life. Traditions usually passed down from generation to generation. They help people to understand each other, can tell us a lot about the country. I studied English at school and now I continue to study it at the college. That's why, to know and to speak English well, we need to study British culture and history.
