Dear teachers and pupils! Welcome to our competition that calls “The Leader of the 21^st century”. Let me introduce to you our players. They are 8^th grade pupils. Then the participants introduce themselves into English, Kazakh or Russian languages.

Our competition consists of 4 levels.

The first level is - Baiga

The second level is - Polyglot

The third level is - Doda

The fourth level is - Who is the best?

  And we have dear jury that will mark our players. Let me introduce them to you.

   Players, are you ready for this competition? Then let’s begin.

I.      Baiga. The first level has got questions. Pupils must answer the questions very quickly. You can get 1 point for each right answer.

1. What is the capital of Kazakhstan? (Nur-Sultan)

2. Where is the statue of Liberty situated? (New York)

3. What is the currency of Great Britain? (pound)

4. What is the currency of Kazakhstan? (tenge)

5. How many parts are there in GB? Name them. (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland)

6. Who is the head of GB? (Queen Elizabeth II)

7. The President of our country….? (K.Zh.Tokaev)

8. When is our Independence Day? (16^th of December)

9. Who was the first president of the USA? (Washington)

10. Ahmet Yassaui Mausoleum is in … (Turkestan )

11. Which month Nauryz is celebrated in Kazakhstan? (March)

12. What is the official language of the USA? (English)

II. Polyglot. The next round you will enjoy is “Polyglot”. There are some proverbs you have to find. Answers should be given in three languages (English, Kazakh and Russian). Each correct answer is equal to 3 points.

1.     There is no place like … . (home – үй – дом )

2.     Оқусыз білім жоқ, .... күнің жоқ. (білім – знание – knowledge)
