Итоговая административная контрольная работа в 8 классе READING COMPREHENSION Task 1.  Read and choose the correct question to each text A People have always polluted the environment. But until now pollution was not such a serious problem. In past  most people lived in uncrowded country areas and didn’t have machines polluting the nature. B But with the development of industrial cities the problem of pollution has become more important. Using  automobiles and other machines made pollution steadily worse. Since the 1950s people have become alarmed  with the danger of environmental pollution. C Air, water, and ground are necessary for all living beings and animals. But polluted air can cause illness, and even death. Polluted water kills fish and other marine life. On polluted soil (почва), food products can’t be grown. In  addition environmental pollution destroys the natural beauty of our planet. E D Pollution is a very serious problem. Cars are polluting the air but they provide fast transportation for the people.  Plants and factories pollute the air and the water but they provide jobs for people and produce goods. Pesticides  are important for growing crops but they pollute soil.
