I.                  Организационный этап. Создание благоприятного психологического настроя на работу.

1. Приветствие учащихся.

Good morning, children! Im glad to see you. Sit down, please!

2.- How are you today, ...? And what about you, ..,?

I am happy that you are OK.

Let's begin our lesson!

II.               Речевая разминка.

Учитель задает вопросы:

- Today it is cold, isn't it?

- Do you like winter? And you? 

- I like winter too.

- December is a winter month, isn't it?

-Good!

III.           Фонетическая зарядка

At first let's do some phonetic exercises! Look at the screen and repeat after me! All together! (2 слайд презентации)

Ok! Well done!

VI.  Постановка цели и задач урока.  Мотивация учебной деятельности

- How do you think what will we talk about today? What is the topic of our lesson?

- Great! Today we will summarize and remember what we know about the names of the holidays and traditions in Britain.

V. Актуализация знаний

- People like holidays. People in Britain celebrate a lot of different holidays. What British holidays do you know? Look at the screen and name them! ( 3 слайд презентации)

- Read the word combinations, please and translate them! (слайд № 4)

Выражения: dress up as a witch; send special cards; hang stockings.

Учитель задает вопросы:

- When do people dress up as a witch\send special cards\hang stockings? What is a holiday? Did you guess?

VI. Аудирование

- Fine! Well done! What British holidays do you know else?

Listen to me! What words in texts are absent? (cлайды 6-10)

 You will listen the tape recorder twice, You have to write down your answers in your copy books!

VII. Применение знаний и умений в новой ситуации

- Answer my question, please! When do people in Britain celebrate these holidays? Look at the screen! (13 cлайд презентации) You can see two columns! Match the names of the holidays with their dates! Make notes!

 

- Tell me, please, when do people celebrate St Valentine's Day?

Учитель организует контроль, задавая вопросы о каждом празднике.

- Ok!

VIII. Динамическая пауза.

 You are well done! Let’s have a rest and sing a Christmas song.

IX. Проверка домашнего задания, воспроизведение и коррекция знаний

-Let's check your hometask! Your hometask for today was to make Projekt «My Favourite Holiday». I would like to listen to you. Who will be the first? Who will be the next?

- Very good! Fine!

- Ok! Sit down, please!

X. Обобщение и систематизация знаний.

Реализация творческого проекта «Рождественская открытка».

 

- Tell me, please, what holiday will British people celebrate soon?

- You are right! Now we shall check your hometask about the text “Christmas in Britain- Decide if the sentences after the text are true, false, not stated. Read the sentences, translate them!

- Tell me, please, do you like Christmas\New Year?

We all like New Year! How do you and your family usually celebrate New Year? What do you do? What traditions does your family have? You get some sheets of paper with word combinations that can help you. Let's read and translate them one by one! Speak about New Year's celebration in your family. (Слайд № 14)

- Ok!     

– Now we know a lot about Christmas. It’s all very interesting. Now it’s time to write Christmas cards. Look at them. Let’s remember what can you write on the cards. You have to write a few words to your friends .

– Your cards are very nice. You may give them to your parents and friends.

- How can we congratulate our friends and relatives with Christmas and New Year? We can make some greeting cards.

- I'll give you some models of greeting cards, Look at the screen! You can see some greetings, let's read and translate them!

- Now choose one of the greetings and write down it on your card!( Let's congratulate our guests!) Звучит песня“We wish you a Merry Christmas”).

XII. Рефлексия

– So, it’s time to finish our lesson. You have learnt some interesting facts about Сhristmas in Britain. Did you enjoy our lesson?

And now your hometask. You should write a letter to your friend how you spent your holiday. Your work during the lesson was excellent and you have got some good marks for your answers.

 

- Can we imagine holidays without presents?

-Holidays are  associated with gifts. I'd like to give you these lovely toys. You can decorate the New Year tree at home or in your classroom with these toys. I wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May all your dreams come true. Be happy, healthy and wise.
