2\3 of the people in England and the rest of Britain own or in the process of buying their own houses

What are houses like?

Most houses in England are made of stone or brick from the local area where the houses are built. The colours of the stones and bricks vary across the country

A detached house is not joined to any other

A semi-detached house
A semi detached house is a  house which is joined to another house on one side.

A terraced house
Terrace house is a house which is part of a line of houses. It is a  house which is joined to other houses on two sides

A block of flats
A flat is part of a bigger
building where all the flats
share a front door.

A Bungalow
A bungalow is a house which is only on one
floor, no stairs. It may be joined to another
bungalow or might stand alone.

The most popular type of home in England is semi-detached (more than 27% of all homes), closely followed by detached then terraced

The main types of houses in Russia:

Apartment buildings.
The cottage is one-storey and attic (two–storey, one of the floors of which is an attic) with a small plot of land
Townhouse - several families live in a two- or three-storey house at the same time.
Duplex is a house for two owners.

A block house.
The types of residential buildings in this series are assembled from concrete blocks.

"Brezhnevka" These houses were designed back in 1964 and were built up to 1980. At that time, the country was ruled by Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU.

"Khrushchev" Usually in the apartments of such houses there are from one to four rooms, which would be more suitable for the name "cells".

"Stalinka" On the landing there are three two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments.
