A little bit about his career… David Robert Jones, known as David Bowie Was born in south London on the 8th January 1947. He was an English songwriter, singer, actor, record producer. He was one of the most popular Musicians for over 50 years. During his lifetime he sold over 140 million records worldwide. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. He became famous after the release of “Space Oddity” in July 1969. After a period of experimentation he reemerged as his alter ego Ziggy Stardust in 1972. Ziggi made him famous all over the world. He was changing his music styles each decade from 1970 to 2000. He stopped concert touring in 2004. And returned from a decade-long break with the realease of “The Next Day”. He died on the 10th of January 2016, just two days after the release of his final album “Blackstar”.

A little bit about his private life… In 1970 Bowie married Mary Angela Barnett. In 1971, their son – Zowie, was born. They divorced in 1980. In 1992 he married American model Iman in Lausanne. They had one daughter – Alexandria Zahra Jones, who was born in 2000. Up to his death his family lived between 3 cities: New York, London and Sydney.
