Today you will talk about your favourite films and
actors, you will work in groups, find information,
discuss it and describe films using the structure.
Let’s begin!

What kind of films do you know?
(Less able learners begin to answer the first)
Warmup
Look at the board and let’s repeat the names of the
films: action film, animation, comedy, documentary,
drama, horror films, musical, romantic film, science
fiction film; adjectives: amazing, awful, brilliant, exciting,
scary, terrible, thrilling, disappointing.(Learners repeat)
Leadin: Game “Password”:
One learner sits with his back to the board. The other
learners see the photo of the actor or actress on the board
and describe him or her to the learner who can’t see the
photo. They must not say the name. The first learner
guesses correctly. A different learner sits with his back to
the board and guesses the name of the actor or actress.

Jumbled Questions (Work in pairs):
Learners read jumbled questions related to the theme: do

Make a list of films you have seen recently. Then choose
one film you would like to talk about.
Learners make a list of films they have seen and novels they have read recently. Each group chooses one film
which they would like to talk about. “Secretary” is
appointed in every group and he is responsible for taking
notes.
Learners are introduced the structure of their presentation:
You have to give a talk about your favourite film. Look at
the structure:

Introduction (Say what you are going to talk about,
but don’t say the title!!)
Description (Describe the film):
Genre (What kind of film is it?)
Setting (Where and when does it take place?)
Characters (Who are the main characters?)
Plot (How does the story begin? What happens and how
does it end?)
Opinion (Say what you and others think of it)
Conclusion (Summarize what you have said)
You may need to research your information on the
Internet and you may collect some visual material, e.g.
pictures from the film, to support your talks. Speak
English! Choose two speakers to give the talks. You can
talk for twothree minutes. Don’t tell the title of the film!
Learners make posters.
Presentation:
While listening to the speakers, be attentive! The
speakers should follow the structure. And then you will
put marks for their work! Criteria:

Learners give the talks to the other groups, who try to
Internet resources guess the titles of the film. They ask the speakers one
question more about their topic at the end.
