THE INTRODUCTION

Roadside service objects naturally began to appear as the communication routes developed. With the advent of road transport, the nomenclature of objects has increased somewhat, but the technological specifics of their work has not changed much.

The rapid construction of a large number of typologically different objects that are technologically linked to a complex of roadside services suggests the possibility of using end-to-end modularity.

The results of the research have a certain scientific, theoretical and practical significance:

-                    for the first time, the possibility of spatial planning linking typologically diverse roadside service facilities with a large-sized structural module was demonstrated;

-                    for the first time, the possibility of forming roadside service complexes on the basis of multiconfiguration blocking of modules, taking into account both the originality of the typology of an individual object and the complex as a whole, is show.

The result of the research is a set of new scientific results that determine THE POSSIBILITY OF

EFFECTIVE USE OF A MODULAR SYSTEM BASED ON A TRIANGULAR ROD SPATIAL PLATE

WITH APPROPRIATE PLANNING ADAPTATION OF THE ENTIRE RANGE OF INDIVIDUAL OBJECTS AND COMPLEXES OF ROADSIDE SERVICE, which can be used in different regions.

1. THE EVOLUTION OF THE ROADSIDE SERVICE SYSTEM

Over the centuries-long history of development, roadside service facilities have demonstrated a significant variety of space-planning decisions, reflecting the specifics of their location, the degree of development of the administration system, and the intensity of cargo and passenger traffic.

The presence of a high level of administration over a wide area led to the creation of a postal service as part of the service.

A significant impetus to the development of roadside maintenance complexes was due, for example, in the 18th century, the widespread use of specially designed series of standard designs.

The appearance and development of cars has somewhat expanded the range of roadside service facilities.       The main change in roadside service complexes was due to the need to increase parking spaces and ensure convenient maneuvering of cars (especially buses and trucks with trailers).

The level of administration achieved today and the technical and technological instrumentation equipment virtually eliminated the need for fencing the walls of the territories of the complexes.

The development of the system of roadside service facilities in the Republic in particular requires the improvement and acceleration of sales.

The lack of uniformity in approaches in the design and construction of roadside service facilities in the Republic slows down the design process and complicates construction.

The universal modular unit, which has been developed and started to be implemented, does not yet comprehensively solve all the tasks involved in accelerating the development of the country's roads.

The solutions recommended by the republican standard as the basis for the planning of roadside service complexes do not in all cases meet the objectives of compactness and ease of operation in terms of internal driveways and car parks.

To create economic and technologically optimal layouts for roadside service complexes, it is advisable to study in depth the solutions developed and implemented, for example, in Belgium and the USA, with appropriate adjustments in the future of domestic recommendations.

2. SPACE-PLANNING FEATURES OF THE MAIN ROADSIDE SERVICE STRUCTURES

Modern facilities of the roadside service demonstrate a wide variety of planning solutions and architectural and artistic forms.

Refueling with various types of fuel can be found both in the form of small single structures with the minimum necessary set of premises, and in the form of large filling complexes offering various types of fuel and including trade and catering enterprises.

A separate group of objects is represented by electric stations, which, in a single position, require the formation of a pavilion in combination with it for rest, since the temporary duration of electric station is quite large.       Given this, electric refueling, if possible, it is advisable to place only in relatively large filling complexes.

Roadside car maintenance stations are mostly formed in a complex with large gas stations, since it is necessary to organize the leisure of the client, waiting for the completion of repair operations.

Car wash because of the need to organize leisure time is also advisable to place in a relatively large complexes. In addition, in the presence of self-service car wash, it is necessary to ensure the possibility of express drying of customer’s workwear.

Traffic control complexes are mainly focused on the comfortable work of personnel with a large emotional load from dispatch functions. Also important is the provision of a through passage from the administrative block for each post and the possibility of visual inspection of the bottom and top of the car.

Passenger and driver service facilities have the greatest typological diversity, however, they have the same optimal opportunity both for single placement on the highway and as part of a complex of one size or another.

The demand for passenger and driver service facilities is unpredictable, unlike road control facilities and car service centers. Accordingly, their placement is advisable at distances of 4-8 hours from each other.

3.PROSPECTS OF MODULARITY SYSTEM FOR ROADSIDE SERVICE OBJECTS

The need for a relatively quick solution to the problem of providing all highways in the country with roadside service facilities in accordance with the directives of the nomenclature specified, taking into account historical experience, necessitates the development of a series of relevant standard projects.

In order to increase the efficiency of these series, it is advisable to link up space-planning decisions based on one or another module.       Considering the variety of planning and landscape characteristics of the areas of placement of objects for mainline maintenance, it seems appropriate to choose as a module not a square or rectangular, but a triangular configuration, which in most cases allows harmoniously blocking the modules.

The proposed roofing module in the form of a “regular” triangle extending to a tetrahedron has a structural basis in the form of a single-tier rod spatial plate.

Half a century of extensive practice in the use of such structures (mainly with a cell in the form of an equilateral pyramid with a square base), including in the Central Asian region, minimizes the construction and technological difficulties in the manufacture, delivery and installation.

The height characteristics of the location of the core spatial plate are linked to the normalized road dimensions and features of the technology of functioning of each of the typologically different objects.

The principle space-planning solutions of all four dozen objects from the approved nomenclature of primary maintenance services carried out in the process of the analysis of opportunities show the real possibility of solving development tasks based on this system.       For large-sized complexes in accordance with normalized anti-seismic measures, seismic cutting was performed by arranging the pair supports of the modular plate.

The use of the proposed modular system allows us to successfully solve a number of tasks to reduce the harmful effects on the environment and to effectively use renewable energy sources.

CONCLUSION

Roadside service facilities have a long history. Their space-planning specifics reflected the specifics of cargo and passenger transportation along the road near which they were located and the level of administration in the surrounding territories. An example of optimal management of a vast territory with the creation of a complex of roadside services is the road service that appeared in the Middle ages, and later the postal service. Its services were used not only for the successful delivery of correspondence, but also for the transportation of small goods. A separate part was passenger transport. Within the framework of this service, given its specificity and the need for almost simultaneous construction of almost identical objects on vast territories, the idea of using reusable projects first, and then standard projects for this class of objects grows. The expansion of the nomenclature of primary-line service facilities was determined by the appearance and intensive development of automobile transport, which led to a significant increase in the territory occupied by each complex due to the need to provide parking and convenient maneuvering of cars of various classes.

Grouped by function: car service (refueling of various types of fuel, washing of motorcycles and cars of various sizes, service stations), road control (points of traffic control services, checkpoints, points of dimensional and weight control of vehicles), passenger service (public transport stops, retail and catering points, public toilets and showers, laundries, medical and rescue service points, health pavilions, picnic and recreation areas, stage platforms, playgrounds and pavilions, roadside temples of various faiths, heating points, post offices, motels, warehouses, supermarkets) – these objects are constantly integrated into large complexes or differentiated by individual functions, depending on the actual territorial conditions. The tasks set by the country's leadership for the accelerated development of transport infrastructure require some adjustments in the approaches to the design and construction of primary-line service complexes. At the same time, the lack of uniformity in approaches to the design and construction of roadside service facilities in Kazakhstan, which is clearly expressed in today's practice, slows down the design process and complicates construction. In these conditions, it seems appropriate to adapt a system of design and construction based on standard series that has a long history and good practical results. One of the approaches can be the interconnection of space-planning solutions based on a particular spatial module. The advantages of a triangular module based on a structural basis of a single-tier core spatial plate on three supports revealed in the course of research allow us to solve a number of space-planning and spatial-layout problems for individual objects and their complexes in a harmonious way.

The studied topic has a significant prospect of expansion and deepening. Thus, it is promising to detail to the level of standard projects of the proposed schemes of space-planning solutions for individual objects. It is very important to consider possible options for blocking objects of various types in complexes of various sizes that have a single roof. And, of course, it is advisable to consider the possibility of using small-scale panel structures for the formation of external walls and partitions of objects.
