There are different interest clubs at school. At a science, club students explain physical, chemical and  biological processes on our planet. The history club organizes trips to local historical sites, museum  nights and guest speakers. School talent shows give you the opportunity to show talents of singing,  dancing, acting and many other arts. As for me, I prefer sport club because regular exercises give me more energy. Exercises make me feel and look better. I like playing football, basketball and volleyball. My Best Friend I’d like to tell you about my best friend …. He/she is 13/14 years old. He/she is my  classmate/neighbour/pen friend.  He/She is quite tall and slim, and he’s/she’s got medium length/long/short straight brown/fair hair.  He/She likes wearing jeans and T­shirts, and he/she also wears casual clothes.  I’ve known him/her for about 5/… years. The reason why I like him/her is his/her personality. He/She is  funny and lively, so I never get bored with him/her. But he/she is also very kind and generous. He/She  always lends me his/her things and I can talk to him/her about my problems. Sometimes he/she can be  egoistic/lazy/angry/ foolish/silly/disorganized. Though he/she is my best friend. The USA I’d like to tell you about the USA. The United States of America is situated in North America. It consists  of 50 states. The population is about 250 million people. The USA borders on Canada in the north and on  Mexico in the south. Washington D.C. is the capital of the USA. The president of the USA (now it is Donald Trump) lives in  the White House. New York is the biggest city in the USA. The most favourite attractions in the city are  Central Park, Chinatown, the Statue of Liberty and Wall Street. The rocks in the Grand Canyon are very colourful. They are red, purple, grey and green. Americans like football and baseball. A favourite food at football matches is hot dogs. In my future I want to visit this country with my friends. I’d like to see Washington and the White House, New York and the Statue of Liberty, the Grand Canyon and giant redwood trees, an American football or  baseball match. School I study at school number 132 in Perm. My school day begins at 2 p.m. We usually have 5­6  lessons. At 4 p.m. we have dinner. In the evening I come home at half past 7. After that I do my  homework. I like most of things here: my friends, teachers, interesting subjects and conditions for learning.  But I don’t like the design of our school building. It’s old and awful. My favourite subject is … because I like to … Besides learning it will help me get a good  education. As for school uniform, I think it is important to wear it because it organizes and disciplines. But  I’d like to change the style of our school uniform. It should be comfortable, modern and  beautiful. Though I like my school. Australia Australia is the smallest continent in the world. Australia has a population of 17 million people.  The Aborigine population is very small, only 1­3% of the total. The capital of Australia is Canberra, but the biggest cities are Melbourne and Sydney. People in Australia haven’t got much pollution because there is no population problem. I think  the problem will get worse in the future. Millions of people will come to Australia when the life  in their own countries becomes impossible. I’d like to visit Australia in my future and see the best known and most recognizable Australian  animals such as koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles. British holidays and festivals There are many different traditional holidays and festivals in Britain: Christmas, New Year,  Easter, Valentine's Day, Fool's Day, Harvest Festival, Halloween. On public holidays (called ‘bank holidays’ in the UK) most schools, institutions and businesses  are closed. I’d like to tell about Mother’s Day. It is celebrated three weeks before Easter. On that day mother is rewarded for all she does for her children and family. Traditionally her husband and children  bring her breakfast in bed and buy her a small gift. Adults visit their mothers, bring them flowers and small presents or send them special cards. In Russia people celebrate Mother’s Day last Sunday of November. Besides we honour our  mothers on the 8­th of March. We bring flowers and give presents to our dear mothers.
