b) The concept of information systems

The purpose of the lecture: to give an idea of the system, information system.

Topic questions:

1.          Systems consisting of various elements.

2.          Information system.

Thesis of the lecture

A system is a set of different elements, any object that is considered at the same time as a single and integrated in the achievement of goals. Systems differ significantly in their composition and primary purpose. For example, consider several systems that consist of different elements and are designed to achieve different goals.

Production of professional information

In computer science, the concept of system is very common and has many meanings. In particular, it is often used in hardware and software packages.

A system is the information part of a computer that can be used to solve specific application problems, to obtain many programs that are used in additional document management procedures and to manage calculations. If we add the word information to the concept of the system, its purpose reflects the purpose of functioning (action). An information system is a system for collecting, processing, retrieving, updating, inputting, and outputting information needed to manage an object.

They also help analyze problems and create new products. That is, an information system is an interconnected set of tools, methods and personnel used to store, process, transmit information, etc. in the process of achieving goals. Currently, the information system is represented by a personal computer, used as the main technical means used in information processing. In large organizations, the technical resources of the information system, along with personal computers, include Mainframe (mainframe) or super EEM. The role of man is very important for the creation of an information system, that is, the information produced is presented through the person. It is important to understand the difference between computers and information systems.
