The aims of the game

     1. To develop untrained speech of the students

1.     To develop creative abilities of the students

2.     To bring up an interest to studying the subject.

3.     To summarize the knowledge of the students, derived at the English classes.

Educational:

1.     In the course of creative, independent, individual and group work with didactic materials to fix students’ knowledge on the learned topics such as “Family”, “Food”, “House things” and to extend theit mental outlook.

Developing:

1.     To develop the ability to work in teams and to accept a joint decision;

2.     To develop positive personality qualities (responsibility, goodwill, a feeling of mutual aid)

3.     To develop and train attention, memory and thinking

Upbringing:

 To bring up respect to culture of own country and countries of foreign languages

Equipment: interactive whiteboard, cards with tasks, pictures, quotations of famous people about language

-         Good afternoon, children and our guests! I’m very glad to see you here. Now we shall organize a competition. Two teams will take part in a game of the most quick-witted and the cleverest. It’s time to introduce yourselves.

Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game. Now I’m going to teach you how to play this game: on every petal the task is written. That team who carries out the task faster and better, takes the petal. The winner will be that team who collects as more petals as possible.

I.                    The main stage.

Teacher: And now we come to the 1^st contest of the game called “Riddles”. Kids, listen to me and try to guess who they are.

Teacher: And now we come to the 2^nd contest which is called “A magic 5”. Look at the square, each team will take turns in answering questions. You’ll choose any number. “ …”, it’s your turn to start.  Captains will have an opportunity to choose the number.

Ok, that’ll do. Now let’s go over to grammar. The 3^rd contest is called “Find mistakes”. This is Neznayika. You must know him from the well known story by Nosov “Neznayika on the Moon”. He does exercise on Present Simple, but made a lot of mistakes. Children, you have already studied Present Simple, so can you help him?

Teacher: Now, the next contest is guessing “where is it in the flat”. Here you look at the pictures and name the rooms in the flat. Ok, let’s start! (task is in the slideshow)
