Открытый урок по английскому языку в 5 классе «Здоровье и уход за телом»

Подтема: Ты и твое здоровье

Цель: систематизировать и обобщить знания учащихся по теме «Health and Body Care»

Задачи урока:

Образовательные

- обобщение лексического материала по теме «Health»;

- обобщение грамматического материала (модальный глагол «should »);

- развитие навыков говорения, чтения, письма.

Развивающие

- развитие коммуникативных навыков по теме «Health and Care»;

- развитие творческих способностей учащихся;

- развитие памяти, внимания, мышления.

Воспитательные

- воспитание здоровых привычек и культуры здорового образа жизни;

- воспитание умения работать в сотрудничестве.

Тип урока: обобщающий урок в подтеме

Ход урока

1. Greeting and Aim

Hello, boys and girls! Today our lesson is devoted to a very important problem. As you know some people are healthy, some people are unhealthy. Health is the most precious thing in people’s life. We can’t buy health, but we can do a lot to keep it. Today we are going to do some interesting exercises, to role-play some situations, to guess crosswords, etc.

2. Warming up. Brainstorming. (3 мин)

Let’s say what is healthy and what is unhealthy.

1.I exercise 3 times a week.

2.I eat at McDonalds every day.

3.I eat fruit and vegetables every morning.

4.I wash my hands before breakfast.

5.I watch TV 7 hours a day.

5. Role-play « At the Doctor’s».

(мини-диалог, участвуют доктор и пациент). (6 мин)

Doctor: Good morning! How can I help you?                

Patient: Good morning, doctor! I haven't been feeling well lately and my wife suggested that I should visit you.           

Doctor: What are the main symptoms that you suffer.             

Patient: I have a frequent headache and fever. Also I often sneeze and cough these days.         

Doctor: I see. I'll have to look at your throat and listen to your lungs. Come closer, please.               

Patient: All right.          

Doctor: Open your mouth. And now take off your shirt. According to what I see so far, you've got a bad cold. It's preferred to cancel work for a week or two and to stay in bed. It's also necessary to drink lots of hot tea or other liquids.          

Patient: I have already cancelled work and am staying at home. I'll start drinking more hot tea or milk. It usually helps me. Are there any other prescriptions for my condition?          

Doctor: Yes, there are. You will also need to buy some drugs which I'll prescribe. We have a small pharmacy downstairs, so you can buy the medicine there, if you want.        

Patient: Thank you, doctor. That's very helpful.            

Doctor: Oh, nearly forgot. Apart from hot tea and some drugs, you definitely need to buy some cough drops. You can choose the ones you like. They are with different flavours and rather helpful.                

Patient: Thank you. I'll do that.         

Doctor: I will appoint our next meeting on Friday. That means I will see you in 4 days. I will have to see how are you feeling after the prescribed medicine.  

Patient: Ok. I'll see you on Friday, then.               

Doctor: Good-bye, Mr. Take care.             

Patient: Good-bye, doctor. Thank you for your help.

Pharmacist: How can I help you, ma'am?   

P5: I would like to fill this prescription.      

Pharmacist: May I see it, please?      

P5: Yes, here you.          

Pharmacist: I'll be back in a minute. 

Pharmacist: Are you taking any other medications at the moment?            

P5: Yes, some antibiotics from time to time.

Pharmacist: Make sure you don't mix them with this drug, as it has some side effects. P5: Which side effects?         

Pharmacist: Sometimes, when mixed with other drugs, it can cause a headache or a skin rash. So, you should be careful.                

P5: Thanks! I won't mix it then.        

Pharmacist: Speaking about the frequency, you should take them twice a day after your meals.         Angela: I see. And, how about compatibility with alcohol.               

Pharmacist: Avoid drinking any alcohol drinks, while taking this medication.      

P5: Ok, anything else that I should know about this drug?                 

Pharmacist: No, I guess that's all. Here is your prescription, ma'am.           

P5: Thank you! By the way, do you have any vitamins for kids? I'm looking for vitamin supplement for my 6-year old son.             

Pharmacist: Yes, of course. Here it is. Anything else?    

P5: Yes, I need something for a sore throat. It's also for a kid.            

Pharmacist: We have both lozenges and sprays. Which do you prefer?                 

P5: Lozenges, please.              

Pharmacist: Here you are. Anything else?            

P5: No, that's it.             

Pharmacist: It's 18 pounds all together, ma'am.              

P5: Here you are. Thanks a lot!          

Pharmacist: You're welcome! Goodbye!

Let’s make the conclusion to our work. You have shown you knowledge, you know some proverbs, you can have a talk with a doctor. And I hope that you will take care of your health not only at the lesson but also in everyday life.
