Topic: Intellectual game - trip «Entertainment Country»

·        Practical goal:

-actualization of the studied lexical and grammatical material.

·        Developmental goal:

-development of monologue speech at the level of microexpressions;

-formation of oral skills on the topic;

-development of communication skills, language guessing, imagination and creativity.

·        Educational goal:

-bring up cognitive interest in learning English;

-educate a culture of communication;

-contribute to the general cultural development of students.

Equipment: cards, presentation, tables, medals, diplomas.

                                            Course of the lesson

1.  Organizational moment

1. Preparation for the perception of foreign language speech:

T:  Good day, boys and girls! How do you do! I` m glad to see you. How are you today? Do you like to play games? Today we`ll have an amusing trip to the world of hobbies and interests. Are you ready to travel with me? Ok. We shall go by train today. There are a lot of stops on the way. Look at the blackboard: one flower is for one stop. At the end of the trip each group will have a lot of flowers. Let` s play our game!

     2. Meeting groups.

Our gamers are going to tell you something interesting about them.

- Choose the name for your team and tell the story about you!

- Hello! We are Hobbit’s friends. We are Piglet, Winnie-the-Pooh, Big Rabbit and Small Rabbit. Every evening we visit Hobbit. He is hospitable. We usually listen to Hobbit’s new fairy-tales, watch TV and talk. Sometimes we play tennis and chess.

- Hello! We are Rabbits. We live in a forest. We like singing songs and playing games. Our favourite food is carrot and cabbage. We go to the animal’s school. We are good pupils. We get A’s and B’s at school.

2. The main part of the lesson

T:The first task is to guess the word. You should listen to the description and say what it is. You can see …. – if you know the answer ….

·        Morning—it is time, when you get up

·        Ice-cream--- it is cold and frozen, it can melt, children like to eat it

·        Book—you can read it

·        Summer--- it is a favourite season of all children

·        New Year—it is a holiday, means the beginning of all, year

·        Computer game—it is a game on computer

·        Subject—pupils learn it at school

·        Teacher—this person learns pupils at school

·        Blackboard- pupils write with a chalk on it at school

·        Winter- it is a cold season

·        Summer holidays---they last two month, it is a favourite period of all children

·        Flower—it is very beautiful, it can be of bright colours, it smells wonderfully

·        Yesterday—the previous day, the day before today

·        Pet---people have it at home, feed and walk it

Team can get 1 point for 1 correct answer.

 Т: Name as many hobbies as possible(Ex: taking photos, kipping pets, making models, travelling, going to the theatre, cinema, collecting stamps, coins, reading books).

                                 5. Game “Do it”. Конкурс капитанов

Т: Each captain will be asked to take 6 actions. For each correct task, the team receives 1 point.

                                                6. Игра «Look at me».

Т: Every day we eat different types of products in our meals. Here is a set of pictures with different types of products and only 10 names for them. Your task is to correlate the name of the product with its image. For the correct answer the team receives 1 point.

Words for cards: pears, an oil, a pie, cookies, onions, carrots, eggs, mushrooms, bananas, rice.

7.Станция. «Cartoons».

Т: Pictures of heroes on the board. I'll read the description of the cartoon characters, you have to guess who it is.

Т: Do you like cartoons? Tell us some characters. You have to guess the caracter? Name it and find the picture. You’ll get one point for every correct answer. Let’s try
