The Russian Federation is the largest country in the world. It occupies about one-seventh of the earth's surface. It covers the eastern part of Europe and the northern part of Asia. Its total area is about 17 million square kilometres. The country is washed by 12 seas of 3 oceans: the Pacific, the Arctic and the Atlantic. In the south Russia borders on China, Mongolia, Korea, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan. In the west it borders on Norway, Finland, the Baltic States, Byelorussia and Ukraine. It also has a sea-border with the USA.
There is hardly a country in the world where such a variety of scenery and vegetation can be found. We have steppes in the south, plains and forests in the midland, tundra and taiga in the north, highlands and deserts in the east. The capital of Russia is Moscow. It is its largest political, scientific, cultural and industrial centre. It is one of the oldest Russian cities.
At present, the political and economic situation in the country is rather complicated. There are a lot of problems in the national economy of the Russian Federation.
But in spite of the problems Russia is facing at present, there are a lot of opportunities for this country to become one of the leading countries in the world.

The Far East Economic Region extends from the Arctic tundra of the Chukot and Koryak autonomous areas in the North to the forests of Kamchatka peninsula and Ussuriland in the South. The region is know for its large fishing industry. Of particular interest for its wildlife is Wrangell Island, a natural reserve of the Chukotka coast. Ussuriland, in the southern of the Russian Far East, has jungle- like forest with rare Amur leopard and Siberian tiger. Delicate pink rhododendrons, magnolias, exotic orange irises, lilies are an attraction of the Cedar Ravine nature reserve in the very south, a few kilometers from the North Korean and Chinese borders.
Khabarovsk, a major road, rail and river transport centre of the Far East is situated on the Amur in the Ussuri lowlands. From here the great river turns west and forms the border between Russia and China. The city was named after the seventeenth- century Russian explorer, Yerofei Khabarov. His monument stands in the square by the railway station.

Primorski Territory is the subject of the Russian Federation.
Administrative center — the city of Vladivostok.
It is located in the south of the Far East, in a southeast part of the Russian Federation. In the north borders on Khabarovsk territory, in the west with the Peoples Republic of China, in the southwest with Democratic People's Republic of Korea, from the south and the east it is washed by sea of Japan. A large gulf — Peter the Great. Gulf coast are cut strongly up and form internal gulfs: Amur, Ussuriisk, Poseta, the Marksman, the East.

Vladivostok- The Capital Of Primorye Territory.

Vladivostok is a capital and the largest city of Primorye. It is also the largest city of the Far East of Russia. Vladivostok was founded on July 2, 1860, when the military transport " Manchuria " , under the command of Captain – Lieutenant A.K. Shefner , cast anchor in a picturous harbour , in the Bay of Peter the Great. Originally, that city was constructed as a milllitary base.
The population of Vladivostok is about 660000 people.
The seaport is "a heart of the city. It has 16 moorings in the extent of 4190 m., passenger area and specializes on processing of containers and the bulk cargoes going to Sakhalin, Kamchatka, in the Magadan Area, in northern areas of Republic Sakha.

Ussuriisk is formed in 1898.
Population - 161 thousand people.
The city of Ussuriisk has been based in 1866 by immigrants from the Astrakhan and Voronezh provinces on territory there is no time the prospering Bahia state. Passed hundreds years before on this place the village Nikolsky was formed. Building in 1891 of the Trans-Siberian highway and transformation of Nikolska into a large railway junction has inhaled in it a new life. Formation of 7 years after cities Nikolsk-Ussuriisk has strengthened appeal of this corner of Primorski Krai. Today Ussuriysk is one of the largest cities of Primorski Krai. In 2009 to it 135 years were executed. Its local industry is presented powerful food and overworking, easy, metal cutting and the building industry

Spassky Area .

The Spassky area is located in is spacious-Prihankajsky lowland of Primorski Territory. The area industry is presented by 3 enterprises.
In area territory there is a Khankaysky preserve. Its flora is rich with valuable herbs: a dog rose, a legendary root of a life — a ginseng. Tigers, wild boars are found in woods, spotty deer, and columns. Both in area, and behind its limits demand for a cedar, a larch, an ash-tree, remains. In underground pantries — deposits of clay, a tufa, limestone’s.
In the western part of area the Lake Khanka — one of the most beautiful natural reservoirs of Primorsky Krai is located. It is famous for a unique plant — a lotus which is brought in the Red book. And also fish riches. The catfish, a sazan, a crucial.

Dalnegorsk Area.

The Dalnegorsk area is located in the central part of the Sichote-Alin ridge. Nonfreezing seaport - the Ore Landing stage creates favorable conditions of cooperation with Asian-Pacific and other regions of the Far East. In Dalnegorsk area of 10 settlements which are connected among themselves highway and dirty roads.
In Dalnegorsk area of 9 industrial enterprises. Considerable stocks of polymetallic ores with the maintenance of lead, zinc, tin, silver and other precious metals. Rich natural resources of area have created preconditions for development mining, chemical, metallurgical, wood, the food-processing industry.

Pokrovka is my native village. It is an administrative and cultural centre of the district. The position of Pokrovka is good. The big cities Vladivostok and Ussuriysk are located near Pokrovka. Pokrovka is situated in the valley of the Razolnaya River. From one side Pokrovka is surrounded by hills, from the other side Pokrovka is surrounded by fields, forest, lakes. The people of Pokrovka love the green of Russian countryside with its trees, flowers, sunflowers in summer. In summer people like to spend their holidays on the bank of the Razdolnaya River. It is a favorite place of many people.
