«London Sightseeings»

Класс: 4

Цель: формирование социокультурной компетенции учащихся.

Задачи:

Образовательные:

1. Введение новых лингвострановедческих понятий и новых ЛЕ по теме «Великобритания».

2. Совершенствование навыков аудирования, чтения и монологической речи.

Развивающая:

1. Развитие страноведческих знаний учащихся.

2. Развитие памяти, внимания и языковой догадки.

Воспитательные:

1. Формирование интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка, обычаев и традиций.

2. Расширение общего кругозора школьников, повышение их культурного уровня.

3. Воспитание уважительного отношения к культуре Великобритании.

Оборудование: наглядный материал, иллюстрирующий достопримечательности Великобритании, карточки со словами, видео о достопримечательностях на английском языке.

Ход занятия

1. Организационный момент.

- Good afternoon, boys and girls!

I’m so happy to see you. I hope you are fine.

Today we’ll speak about British most famous sightseeings.

2. Речевая разминка.

- Tell me please what British sightseeings you already know.

3. Знакомство с новыми лингвострановедческими реалиями.

- We’ll take eight sightseeings today. Let’s read the names, translate and look at the pictures.

(- is the biggest and the oldest zoo in the world. It has the biggest collection of reptiles.

- is a beautiful place in London. It can carry 800 people. People celebrate weddings on it.

- is an amazing wax museum in the world. 2,5 million people visit it every year. You can see famous actors, singers and politicians.

- is a place where all British kings and queens are crowned. It's nearly 900 years old.

- is a place where many famous people are buried such as Admiral Nelson. The architect is Christopher Wren. You can see this cathedral in films about Harry Potter, Mary Poppins.

- was a fortress, a zoo, a prison. Now it's a museum. The Crown jewels are kept there. You can see six raven there.

- is the main clock in London. It's the name of the main bell. It weighs 13 tone.

- is the place for meeting. You can see Nelson's column with bronze lions. Tourists like to feed doves there.)

- Look at the blackboard. You see the letter about British sightseeings. Your task is to complete the letter with words “old, London, the Tower, a museum, reptiles, London Zoo, Admiral Nelson,  Harry Potter, Westminster Abbey”.
