Let's learn english together
This open action is called let's learn english. There are nine tasks. The challenges are directed on critical thinking. Children can work in groups, talk to each other, discuss and solve the crosswords. Fulfill exercises and work according to descriptors.

Purpose: fixing of the available knowledge in the field of English by means of a game situation.

Tasks:

Educational

- to raise

- cognitive interest of pupils to language through use of the game moments;

- to enshrine ability of the use in the speech of informal conversation;

- training in skills of perception aurally foreign words.

Developing

- to develop attention and memory of pupils;

- to develop ability to work in group.

- ability to work in cooperation with others;

- to bring up respect for other culture.

Good morning, pupils! It’s a lovely day! I’m very glad to see you!

Let’s start our quiz!

 

1. Game "Snowball"(3 minutes)

 The first participant calls the word". The second participant repeats the word of the first participant and tells his\her  own. And so on. The team who  will cope with a task without mistakes will be the winner.

2. «Teachers» (4 minutes)

Well, children! Let’s imagine you are the English teachers. You will need to check a dictation and to find and correct errors.

About My Family

My family is not very big: Dad, Mom, me, my brother and sister and our cot. My Mummy is forty-one, she is a tacher of Spanish at the University. My Dad is forty-tuo, he is a profesional painter, he works for a design company. My perents both like their work very much. My elder sister Natasha is ninetien, she goes to the Uni­versity, she wants to be a teacher of hestory. She is fond of reading buks on history. My younger brother Igor is only six years old, he goes to the kendergarten.

I lave my family very much. We always help each other.

3. «Mistakes» (2 minutes)

You have to clean one odd word each line. Also it is necessary to explain why this word superfluous. It is the odd word because it’s a……..

1. peach, pear, chicken, apple, banana

2. tail, cat, mouse, dog, rabbit

3. bird, airplane, kite, helicopter, bus

4. red, sun, green, purple, brown

4. «Riddles» (3 minutes)  

There are six riddles, three for each team. You have to guess them. One point for one riddle.

1.     I have got four legs but I can’t walk. (a table or a chair) 

2.     I’m tall and green, I’m in the garden. (a tree) 

3.     It does not have legs, but it goes. (a clock) 

4.     Two brothers, but they don’t see each other. (eyes) 

5.     It’s white, cold and sweet. All children like it. (ice-cream) 

6.     It’s not a man, it’s not a woman, but it teaches us. (a book) 
 

    5. «Poems» (3 minutes)

Think up a rhyme to each word. For example, take – cake It

Pie - … (sky)

Phone - … (bone) 

Book - … (cook, took)

Bad - … (dad, sad, mad)

Cat - … (fat)

Mother -…..(another)

6.     Think up new words as much as possible, using letters of this word:

7.     ”Some English proverbs”(4 minutes)

The English proverbs are given on the screen. Pupils have to compare the English proverbs with their Russian translation. The team receives one point for each correct answer.

8.”My family”(3 miutes)

The cards are given to teams  where they have to find 14 names of family members. The team receives one point for each found word.

                  

9."Artist’s competition”(5 minutes)

The text is  given to the teams.  It is necessary to draw the picture according to the text.  
There is a big house in the middle of the picture. The house is yellow with a red roof. There are two windows in the house and one door. To the left of the house there is a green tree. To the right of the house there are two flowers. One flower is red, the second flower is blue. Under the tree there is a black dog. On the tree there is a fat cat.
