One of the most remarkable public events in our country is the Victory Day
May 9 is a sad day for the majority of our people. Many of them have lost their loved and close relatives during that ruthless war.
In the Kovergins there were three sons. All of them were killed. My great-granddad, Nikolay Kovergin, was killed on the 24th of April 1942 not far from Leningrad.

Another my great-granddad, Michkov Alexey left at home his wife and his son, my granddad. He took part in many battles and was wounded in 1944 in Bulgaria. He died in a hospital on the 18th of November 1944 and was buried in Bulgaria.
We have got a lot of his letters from front line. Many of them were written to his son, “…when I came back home I’ll buy books, ski, you‘ll go to school. Not to forget your dad…”.
And we remember him and all other heroes of that War.
