William Perkin

A) My name is Samantha and I am twelve. My family is not so big: my dad, my mom and me. I love my family but sometimes I feel lonely. All my friends have brothers or sisters and they often have fun together. When I am at home my parents are usually too busy to play with me, so I have to play alone. It is sad. I hope in future I will also have a brother or sister. We'll become real friends and do everything together.

B) I'm Kyle and I'm from New Zealand. I live here together with my family: my parents and my twin brother Josh. We look the same but have different characters and interests. Josh is sociable and energetic, and I am calm and serious. Our interests also differ: Josh is crazy about snowboarding and playing the electric guitar, and I like learning new technologies and writing about them in my blog.

C) I am Sophie Mourant from Paris and I am a part of a big family. There are eight of us: my parents, my three elder brothers, my two younger sisters and me. When I come home, it's always very noisy. Loud voices, laughter and music are the sounds I hear all the time. It can be tiring but sometimes it's really fun. I like staying with my family because we are never bored together.

D) I'm Sheila from New York. My family is not big but very creative. My dad is a clothes designer and my mum is a photographer. They often work together and sometimes ask me to help them. And that is the time I like best. I am wearing beautiful clothes my dad has made for me, my mum is taking my photos and we're having fun together.

When she sees me she gives her sweetest smile and shakes her hands. We often play together. Listening to songs is what my sister loves best of all. In the evenings she doesn't sleep if she doesn't hear some of my songs. I don't still believe that I have a sister now.

Hi everyone!
My name is Erica and I'm from Ireland. But I'm not in Ireland now, I'm in Africa. I'm working with animals here and my life is very different from my life in Ireland!
Here, in Africa, I usually work in the evening and at night, so I sleep during the day. I get up at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Then I take a shower and have breakfast.
At 6 o'clock in the evening I start to work with my friend Jess. We go to the forest and look for birds. We don't talk so the birds can't hear us. Until 10 o'clock in the evening we look for birds and take notes about them. Then we have sandwiches for lunch and continue our work.
We finish at about 4 o'clock in the morning. After that I say goodbye to Erica and go home. Sometimes I don't have dinner. I put all the information I get during the day in my computer. Then I take a shower and go to bed at 6 or 7 o'clock in the morning. I'm always very tired after work.
My job is really hard and unusual, but I like it!

A) People in England like animals. Almost every family has a pet – a dog or a cat. Sometimes people have birds or hamsters as pets.
