“Everything about Great Britain”
Форма проведения: «брейн-ринг».
Цели:
1) активизировать лексические и грамматические знания языка;
2) закрепить знания страноведческого материала;
3) развивать и совершенствовать навыки аудирования, чтения, письма и говорения;
4) мотивировать к дальнейшему, углубленному изучению английского языка;
5) прививать здоровый дух соперничества;
6) развивать умение работать в команде и поддерживать свою команду;
7) воспитывать интерес и уважение к культуре другого народа.
Оборудование: ноутбук, мультимедийное оборудование, презентация, демонстрационные материалы, карточки с заданиями, маркеры, наградные сертификаты.
Форма организации работы: индивидуальная, групповая.
Procedure:
I. Introduction. Greeting
Good afternoon, dear friends! Let me welcome you at our intellectual competitions. Today we’ll speak about Great Britain, about its culture, its big cities and small towns, about its well-known and unknown sights, about famous people – everything about GB.
So we have two teams. The A(ctive) Team. The B(rave) Team.
Antonina Vladimirovna will keep the score. She will follow the time.
II. Main part
Round I. Warming up.
Your task is to answer as many questions as you can. Do that very quickly, loudly and all together (in 1 or 2 words).
1. What day is it today?
2. What month is it now?
3. What season is it now?
4. What’s the weather like today?
5. What are the spring months? (Name them)
6. What town do you live in?
7. Where is Berdiansk located? (near the Black sea or near the Azov sea?)
8. What are the winter months? (Name)
9. What school do you go to?
10. What is your form teacher’s name?
11. What is your English teacher’s name?
12. What are the summer months? (Name)
13. Name the days of the week.
14. What are the colours of the British Flag? (blue, red, white)
15. What are the autumn months? (Name)

Now we’re listening to a song “The UK Song”. Your task is to understand and remember as much information as possible. Try to catch as more details as you can.
Then you’ll have to answer some questions. By the way, if the team cannot answer, the supporters/fans have a chance to help and answer a question.
Round IV. The Grammar Experts.
Work in teams, together. Read, think, identify and write the tense of the verb in each sentence.
