Тема: «Домашние животные»

Цель:

o   поиск и выделение необходимой информации (при чтении на иностранном языке) о разных домашних животных в учебных текстах;

o   реализация мини-проектов о домашних животных.  

o   Задачи:

o   активизация лексических единиц в устной речи по теме: «Animals»

o   анализировать учебные тексты;

o   реализация групповых рассказов о домашних животных

Оборудование: УМК «Spotlight-5», интерактивная доска, раздаточный материал, материал Интернет ресурсов,  презентация.

Plan of the Lesson

-         Good morning, boys and girls! How are you? Nice to meet you!

 We have a lot of guests at the lesson. So, you should be very attentive and polite as usual.

-         Look at my slide! Can you guess our topic of the lesson today? What are we going to talk about? Right, we are going to talk about our pets. So, what is our aim?  - to make a story about our pets.

-         We should talk about pets. Let’s open our books at the page 70. What can we see on this page? - (pictures, exercises and  texts)

-         So, what are the tasks of the lesson?  - to do exercises, read texts, make sentences.

OK, You are sitting in groups around different tables.

- How will we work: in groups or individually?

- In groups, of course.

·         - Now I want you to work with exercise 1, p.70 in your SB. Open this page! Look at the pictures.

·          -  What animals can you see in the pictures? Name them all!

·         Ученики называют животных. Если необходимо, учащиеся хором и индивидуально повторяют названия животных за учителем.

·         - Listen to the sounds and say which animal it is.

Keys: the duck, the dog, the hen, the cow, the budgie, the sheep, the goat, the cat.)

 

-         What types of animals are they? Farm animals and pets.

-         Where do farm animals live? Yes, on the farm.

-         Where do pets live? At home, right.

·         -Your groups have a sheet of paper. Write the animals in two columns under the headings:   Pets, Farm animals.

·         - OK, the task should be done. Stick your answers on the blackboard! Well done, thank you for your work! The students read their lists.

·         - Do you know the most popular pets in Britain? Who knows? (- Cats. Dogs)

·         - All right. Let us see. Exercise 2 p70. It is a forum about people`s pets.

·         - So, where can you see this text? (In the Internet.)

·         - Read the name (the title) of the text. What is it about? What are your ideas?

-         Ученики высказывают свои предположения: It's about pets.

-         Let’s listen to the texts. Check your answers. Are these texts really about pets?

After listening the texts.

·         - Are these texts about the pets?

·         - So we were right. People talk online about their pets and become friends.

-         Now read the texts once more for yourselves, and find what pets these children have got?

-         Well, what pet has Jessie got? Chris? Sarah? What are their names?

Keys: Jessie has got a cat. Her name is Stripes. Chris has got a budgie. His name is Tweety. Sarah has got a dog. His name is Nelson. Учитель задает вопросы по содержанию текста.

·         - How old is Jessie’s cat? What does she look like?

·         - Does Chris like cats? What colour is his budgie? Can his budgie sing?

·         - How old is Sarah’s dog? What does he look like?

·         - How does Sarah look after her dog?

-         Let’s have a rest! Let’s do gymnastics!

-         OK, now we are going to work in groups. Let’s remember our rules how to work in groups. (the teacher shows the rules on the slide p.33, ex.4 SB «Spotlight-5» )

-         Ok, the texts were rather interesting and they can help us make a story about our pets. Do you remember, our aim today is to make a story in groups.

-         First of all, let’s make a plan of our story.

-         You can see the questions you should put them in order to make our plan. Think a bit. I give you 1 minute.

-         What will be the first question? – (What is this pet?)

-         What will be the second question? – (What is its name?)

Учитель предлагает ученикам выстроить план самостоятельно, руководствуясь текстом. Им предлагаются вопросы на разрезанных листочках. Каждая группа обсуждает свои версии и представляет план классу.

- Now I would like to see your plan. Great job! The teacher has a look at the groups’ plans.

Follow the texts in your student books, look at your plan and make your own story. You have some words to help you. You have 5 min. You work in groups and after that you should present your mini-projects. Don’t forget the rules how to work in groups!
