Музей мадам Тюссо – самый большой и известный в мире музей восковых фигур, основная экспозиция которого расположена в Лондоне. Каждый год  знаменитый лондонский музей посещает порядка 2,5 млн человек. 

Madame Tussauds is the largest and most famous museum in the world, the main exhibition of which is located in London. About 2.5 million people visit the famous London Museum every year.

Anne-Marie Tussauds

Анна-Мария родилась в 1761 г. во Франции, позже они с матерью переехали в Швейцарию. Там мать Анны устроилась работать экономкой к известному скульптору Филиппу Кёртису. Анна-Мария часами наблюдала за работой мастера и вскоре сама решила попробовать лепить. И уже в 17 лет создала свою первую самостоятельную работу – бюст Вольтера. 

Anna-Maria was born in 1761 in France, later she and her mother moved to Switzerland. There Anna's mother got a job as a housekeeper for the famous sculptor Philip Curtis. Anna-Maria watched the master's work for hours and soon decided to try sculpting herself. She became a student and assistant to the sculptor, and at the age of 17 she created her first independent work – a bust of Voltaire.

History of the museum

  В 1794 году Куртис умер, он завещал свою коллекцию восковых фигур Мари. В  Мари Тюссо переехала с мужем в Лондон. Она путешествовала по Великобритании и Ирландии, представляя свою коллекцию. Постоянная выставка была впервые организована в 1835 году на Бейкер Стрит. Сейчас музей Мадам Тюссо- это одна из главных достопримечательностей Лондона

When Curtis died in 1794, he bequeathed his collection of wax figures to Marie. In 1802, Marie Tussauds moved with her husband to London. She traveled around the UK and Ireland presenting her collection. The permanent exhibition was first organized in 1835 on Baker Street. Now Madame Tussauds Museum is one of the main attractions of London

Sculptures of the museum

Madame Tussauds Museum today is a set of thematic exhibitions of wax figures, each of which contains unique works. The museum's exposition includes the "Party" and "Music" halls, where you can see almost all famous singers, actors and musicians of the past and present such as Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, and in the "Fashion Week" hall you can get behind the scenes of Fashion Week and meet figures of famous personalities of this area.

Sculptures of the museum

The most popular are the halls of the museum associated with political figures of the world ("World leaders"), among whose figures are Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and, in fact, the royal family of Great Britain

Figures of Russian people

The museum also presents wax figures of Russian people
But Vladimir Putin arouses genuine interest abroad. A wax copy of the Russian president is in the London branch of Madame Tussauds museum. According to the statistics of visits, Putin has collected a record number of views.

 Madame Tussauds Museum is not just a collection of wax figures, but a whole separate world with its inhabitants. In no other place can you meet so many stars at the same time! No matter how interesting the story about it is, all this is definitely worth seeing with your own eyes.
