The general information.

Oxford is a city in central southern England, the home of the university of Oxford. The city is the county city of Oxfordshire, and forms a district within the county. It lies about 50 miles (80 km) north-west of London. The rivers Cherwell and Thames (also sometimes known as the Isis locally) run through Oxford and meet south of the city centre.
Oxford has a diverse economic base. Its industries include motor manufacturing, publishing and a large number of information technology and science-based businesses.
Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous all over the world for its university and historical places. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established city. Although people are known to have lived in this area for thousands of years.

The college is the setting for parts of Evelyn
Waugh's Brideshead Revisited, as well as Lewis
Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
