Show The Harrogate Autumn Flower The 3rd weekends of September In is one of Britain’s most prestigious gardening shows. The show offered thousands of gardeners, landscapers and horticulturists a chance to celebrate this year’s successes. The show featured the battle of the giants where gardeners from across Britain show off colossal vegetable and flower crops in hopes of earning a coveted award from the judges.

Trafalgar The 21st of October Day It is the celebration of the victory won by the Royal Navy, commanded by Vice- Admiral Horatio Nelson, over the combined French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar on 1805. Sea Cadets of the UK celebrate this day usually with a parade of a town. In Birmingham, this day is celebrated by a ceremony at the statue of Lord Nelson in the Bull Ring.

Day Day Guy Fawkes Guy Fawkes The 5th of November It is sometimes known as Bonfire Night. As it is the end of autumn, it is the ideal opportunity to burn garden rubbish. Many people light bonfires and set off fireworks and organize a combined party. These parties often include a bonfire and dressing up in spooky outfits. Popular foods include toffee apples, bonfire toffee and potatoes baked in the ashes of the fire.
Day Remembrance The 11th of November It marks the anniversary of the armistice which ended the First World War (1914– 18). Hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month“. These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilled in the war.
