Sir J. M. Barrie was
a Scottish novelist
and playwright, best
remembered today
as the creator of
Peter Pan.
He was born and educated in Scotland
but moved to London, where he wrote
a number of successful novels and plays. There he met the boys, who inspired him to write about a baby boy who has magical adventures in Kensington Gardens, then to write Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, a "fairy play" about an ageless boy and an ordinary girl named Wendy who have adventures in the fantasy setting of Neverland.
Peter Pan
J. M. Barrie's most famous work tells the story of Peter Pan, a mischievous yet innocent little boy who can fly, and has many adventures on the island of Neverland that is inhabited by mermaids, fairies, Native Americans and pirates. Peter has many stories involving Wendy Darling and her two brothers, his fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, and the pirate Captain Hook.
Joseph Rudyard Kipling
was an English
journalist, short-story
writer, poet, and
novelist.
He is regarded as a major innovator in
the art of the short story; his children's
books are classics of children's literature. Kipling's works of fiction include The Jungle Book, Kim, and many short stories. Kipling was one of the most popular writers in the United Kingdom, in both prose and verse. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907.
The Jungle Book
A collection of stories was written by
English author Rudyard Kipling. The tales in the book including five stories about Mowgli are fables. The author uses animals to give moral lessons.
Mowgli is a fictional character. A boy is
raised by wolves in the Indian jungle with the help of Baloo the bear and Bagheera the black panther and then has to fight the tiger Shere Khan.
Pamela Lyndon
Travers was an Australian-born British novelist, actress, and journalist who
emigrated to England and lived most of
her adult life there. She is known best for the Mary Poppins series of children's books featuring the magical English nanny Mary Poppins. For services to literature, Travers was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

Alan Alexander Milne

Alan Alexander Milne
was an English author,
best known for his
books about the
teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh, and for
various poems. Milne was a noted writer, primarily as a playwright, before the huge success of Pooh overshadowed all his previous work. Milne served in both World Wars, joining the British Army in World War I, and was a captain of the British Home Guard in World War II.

It is the first volume of stories about Winnie-the-Pooh, by A. A. Milne. It is followed by The House at Pooh Corner. The book focuses on the adventures of a teddy bear called Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Piglet, a small toy pig; Eeyore, a toy donkey; Owl, a live owl; and Rabbit, a live rabbit. The characters of Kanga, a toy kangaroo, and her son Roo are introduced later in the book.
Lyman Frank Baum

Lyman Frank Baum , better known by his pen name L. Frank Baum, was an American author chiefly known for
his children's books, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He wrote thirteen novel sequels, nine other fantasy novels, short stories, poems, scripts, and many writings. He made numerous attempts to bring his works to the stage and screen.

It is an American children's novel written by author L. Frank Baum.
The story chronicles the adventures of a young farm girl named Dorothy in the magical Land of Oz, after she and her pet dog Toto are swept away from their Kansas home by a cyclone. The novel is one of the best-known stories in American literature and has been widely translated.
Helen Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter was an English writer
illustrator, natural scientist , and conservationist
best known for her children's books
featuring animals, such as those in The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Potter wrote and illustrated children's books full-time. She wrote about 30 books; the best known being her 24 children's tales.

Hugh John Lofting

was a British author,
trained as a civil
engineer, who
created the character of Doctor Dolittle,
one of the classics of children's literature. He travelled widely as a civil engineer. Not wishing to write to his children about the brutality of the war, he wrote imaginative letters which later became the foundation of the successful Doctor Dolittle novels for children.

classic high-fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion. Tolkien is popularly identified as the "father" of modern fantasy literature—or, of high fantasy.

The Hobbit follows the quest of home-loving hobbit Bilbo Baggins to win a share of the treasure guarded by the dragon, Smaug. nonsense genre.
