Idaho

Idaho – the state located in the northwest of the United States of America. In the north borders on British Columbia and six states of the USA (Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada). The population more than 1,5 million people (the 39th place among other states). The area is 216 632 km ². The capital of Boise is as well the biggest city of the state. Large cities: Nampa, Idaho Falls, Olduell, Pokatello. The most part of the territory of the state is the Rocky Mountains and suburb of the Colombian plateau. Height of mountains can reach 3857 m. In the territory of the state several rivers and about 2000 lakes are located. In 1890 on July 3 Idaho has received the status of the state of the USA and became the 43rd.

Iowa

Iowa – the state which is in so-called "Heart of America" in the west of the United States of America. The territory of the state belonged before the French colony "New France", but has passed to the USA as a result of the concluded bargain (The Louisiana purchase). Here the Indian tribes Iowa lived, the name has been borrowed and quite so, subsequently and the state has been called. In 1846 Iowa has officially become the 29th state of the USA. The area is 145,8 thousand km ². Population about 3 million people. The capital of the state – the city of Des Moines. Big cities: Iowa City, Davenport, Siuox City, Cedar Rapids.

Alabama

Alabama – the state located in the southeast of the United States of America. In the north borders on the State of Tennessee, in the south on the Gulf of Mexico and the State of Florida, from East side with the State of Georgia and in the West on the State of Mississippi. The area of the state makes 135 765 km ². In the territory more than 4,8 million people live (the 23rd place by the number of the population of the USA for 2010). The city of Montgomery is proclaimed the capital of the state. Large cities: Birmingham, Taskaluza and Huntsville. The most part of the territory settles down in Gulf Coastal Plain and in the north passes into the hilly plain. Alabama has officially found the status of the state in 1819 and has become the 22nd state of the USA.

Alaska

Alaska – the state located in the northwest of North America. Wins first place among other states on the area (1523 thousand km ²). Includes the peninsula of the same name, a continental part, the Aleutian Islands, a part of the Pacific coast, island of the Aleksandrovsky archipelago. The population of 690 955 people (2007), at the same time aboriginals are Indians, Aleuts, Eskimos and Russians. The capital of the state – the city of Juneau. Large cities: Anchorage, Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka. Alaska has been discovered by Russians in the 17-18th centuries. In 1867 the Russian Empire has sold the territory of Alaska of the USA for $7,2 million. However the status of the state (49th) has been given only in 1959.

Arizona

Arizona – the state located in the southwest of the United States of America. In the east borders on New Mexico, in the West – on California, on South side with Mexico and on northeast – on Colorado. The area is 295 254 km ². The capital of the state is the city of Phoenix. Large cities: Mesa and Tucson. In 2011 the population made 6 482 505 people (the 16th place on number). The territory is divided into 15 counties. On February 14, 1912 Arizona became the 48th state USA.
