Scene 1

Narrator: Once there lived a Miller. He had 3 sons. Soon he died and left only a mill, a donkey and a cat for his sons. The eldest brother took the mill, the second brother took the donkey, and the youngest one had to take the cat. He was very sad and upset.

3d brother: Oh, what will I do? How will I earn money for bread? I can die from hunger.

Cat: Don’t be so sad. Give me a suck and a pair of boots. It will help us – you will see soon!

Narrator: The Cat caught a hare and came to the King.

Cat: Sir, my master makes you a present. His name is  Marquis de Karabas.

King: Thank your Master. Tell him I am very pleased with his present.

Cat: Good-bye, Sir.

Scene 2

Narrator:   Cat came home and spoke to his master.

Cat: Listen to me now! You should go to the river and bathe there. Do as I tell you.

3d brother: All right. I will go to the river now.

(He takes his things and goes to the river. Here the King and Princess come. They see the boy  swimming)

King: (addressing the cat) Oh, Cat! I am glad to see you. Why are you here?

Cat: I am here with my Master, Marquis de Karabas. Somebody stole his clothes, there is nothing to put on.

King: Let me help your Master. My servants will bring him new clothes.

(King’s servants give the young man  new beautiful suit)

Cat: Thank you, Sir! Let me introduce my Master  to you, Princess.

Princess: Nice to meet you young man. Be our guest today.

3d brother: Thank you very much. With pleasure.

(They take a coach and go to the Palace. On the way to the Palace they are talking)

Cat: Look, Sir! These are all fields of my Master!

King: Oh, I see. They are very beautiful.

Cat: (going by the mill) Look, Sir! This is my Master’s mill!

King: It’s good! It’s very, very good!

Cat: (going by a big beautiful house) And this is my Master’s Palace. Isn’t it wonderful?

King: Oh yes, really. Your Master is a very rich man. Marquis de Karabas , do you want to marry my daughter ?

3d brother: I will be very happy. I agree.     (Addresses the Cat)

         Thank you, my dear Cat. Thank you very much.

 Narrator: So  the 3d brother married Princess and they lived happily for many years.
