Сценарий внеклассного мероприятия "Dating with the Earth"

Муниципальное бюджетное общеобразовательное «Средняя общеобразовательная школа № 7 с углубленным изучением отдельных предметов» учреждение Городского округа Балашиха Сценарий внеурочного мероприятия по английскому языку в 8 классе “Dating with the Earth»                                                                               Подготовила:  учитель английского языка Светикова Татьяна Ярославовна 1 2018 г.                                 Dating with the Earth Сharacters: Snow Queen Counsellor Mermaid  Fisherman Dwarf 1  Dwarf 2 Mistress of the Copper Mountain 2 Scene 1  Snow Queen and her Counsellor Snow Queen: Look, my dear friend! What a beautiful scenery! Everything is magic  white: white snow, white icy hills, white horizon, white sky, even white stars are over  there! Counsellor: Your majesty, I should say, the view is really magnificent! Where else  on Earth could you see the Northern Lights or stars twinkling so brightly! And  everything seems to be covered with a white blanket! Snow Queen: And the snow is sparkling and glittering in the sun like diamonds, and  the snowflakes are whirling like white bees! The snowflakes are dancing. Counsellor: Your Majesty, I don’t want to upset you, but I should say, that our frozen landscape can soon start melting! Snow Queen: What unbelievable things you are speaking about!  How did you know  about them? Counsellor: Have I told you about the magic looking glass, a present from the Queen  of Nature? She warned me that I’d see all the negative changes in Nature in it! Now,  look! They look in the magic looking glass. Snow Queen: Oh, I can’t believe it. It’s getting warm, the ice is melting, and instead  of our fabulous icy flowers and frosty trees I can see the grass of a strange green  colour, so unusual for us! Counsellor: And how will our good friends, white bears, walruses and seals live  without their usual surroundings? Snow Queen: Why have these changes become inevitable? Let’s look in the looking  3 glass! Counsellor: Factories and plants built by people pollute the air and the water with  poison. They emit too much gas, and the result of it is a “greenhouse effect” which  raises the Earth’s temperature, the climate changes and the ice starts melting. Snow Queen: But how can people do such horrible things! Maybe, their hearts are  made of icicles? Then it would be easy for me to turn them into snowmen! Just  imagine, snowmen are instead of people! How funny! Counsellor: Are you joking, your  Majesty? But the real problem is how to help  people cope with the problem. Snow Queen: But how are the things with other kingdoms? Counsellor: Let’s have a look! Scene 2  Mermaid and Fisherman. Mermaid: I pray you, let me go, for I’m the only daughter of the king, and my father  is aged and alone. Fisherman: I won’t let you go until you make me a promise to sing to me, wherever I call you. It will be a delight for the fish to listen to you, and my nets will be full. Mermaid: But neither fish nor dolphins live in the sea any more. Fisherman: I can’t believe it. But you promised to sing, so, please, sing. Mermaid: I’m so exhausted that I can’t. I’d ask my mermaid friend to sing. The  mermaid starts to sing. Fisherman: But no fish came to the surface. Mermaid: I know the reason. The Underwater Kingdom has suffered immensely  from water pollution. For many years our ocean has been damaged by dumping  4 sewage, sludge, garbage, oil and chemicals without concern! Fisherman: Than, what will I have for dinner? Mermaid: Poor thing! You think about your dinner, and I think about my brothers  and sisters who do not exist anymore. About my dear sea­lions with their curved  tusks, about sea­horses with their floating manes, about tritons who had long green  beards, about tiny fish who lived deep in the ocean. And my life is in danger too. Fisherman: But you can go to people and live with them! Mermaid: But I can’t live without the ocean. You, people, should help our oceans,  rivers and seas to recover. Then The Mermaid and the Fisherman go away. Snow Queen addresses her Counsellor: The situation is disastrous. Now let’s look at  the Earth. Scene 3 Mistress of the Copper  Mountain and Dwarves. Dwarf 1 and Dwarf 2: Mistress of the Copper Mountain! Mistress of the Copper  Mountain! Mistress of the Copper Mountain: What are you looking for, my little friends? Dwarf 1: We were working in the nearby mountain trying to get some coal to prepare our breakfast. Dwarf 2: But we couldn’t find any. The bowls of the Earth are exhausted. There is no copper, coal, zinc, gas, oil and mineral resources. Mistress of Copper Mountain: Dear Dwarves, I know that. I  live here, in the  mountain alone. Nobody visits me. And I’d like to know how people live on the  Earth. Dwarf 1: Our Earth is in danger! Harmful wastes, car fumes pollute the air! Acid  5 rains destroy the nature. Dwarf 2: When we were in the city, we couldn’t even breathe. Smoke is coming out  of tall factory chimneys. We were so frightened! Dwarf 1: The forests are cut down. We even couldn’t find a birch tree to sit under and have some birch juice. It is so delicious. Dwarf 2: …No wild flowers in the meadows. No snowdrops, lilies­of­the­valley or  daffodils. Mistress of the Copper Mountain: I haven’t seen my good friends lizards,  hares  and squirrels for long. They loved to gather grains, stems and  nuts. And birds don’t  wake me up in the morning any more, they may live on other planet. Dwarf 2: And lots and lots of litter everywhere. People don’t care about the Earth. Dwarf 1: Dear Mistress! You are so rich and wise. Could you help people save our  nature? Mistress of the Copper Mountain: Dear dwarves! When I was a little girl, I used to  stroll along the passages in the mountains with my friends, fairies. They would touch  stones of different colours with their magic sticks, and they turned into diamonds.  Frozen water was turned into crystals overhanging like gigantic icicles. The soil and   plants were turned into copper, zinc, aluminum, nickel.  But people started to use  them without any restraint, and nothing has left. Even fairies can’t help.  Dwarf 1: What a pity! Mistress of the Copper Mountain: You know, my dear friends, all the treasures I  possessed I gave to people. But the most precious things are here in this Malachite  box. There are the diamonds with the words, curved inside of them. And I’m going to  give them to people. I believe they’ll help people make our Earth our home.  Mistress of the Copper Mountain opens the Malachite box. Mistress of the Copper Mountain: Here are these treasures: ­ keep the Earth tidy; 6 ­ plant trees and flowers; ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ no waste in the seas and oceans. take care of wild animals and birds; save energy and water; reuse and recycle things; factories should clean their smoke; Snow Queen: Here are the tips how to save the planet. People should remember  them. And if they do, I won’t have to turn them into snowmen. When people use  them, their hearts will fill with happiness and joy.                                                      The end 7
