Урок 40. «Последний дюйм»

Цели: обучение монологической речи (описание персонажей); совершенствование навыков чтения и устной речи; активизация лексических навыков.

Ход урока

I.       Организационный момент

-    We shall have a talk about the characters of the story "The Last Inch".

II.      Фонетическая зарядка

-    It's time to practice today's vocabulary. Look at the blackboard and read some words on it. Who can translate the words? Read the words in pairs, please. Will you read the words loudly and quickly? Can you divide the words into 2 groups: nouns and verbs? Name the words that can be both nouns and verbs.

Ученики читают слова хором, в парах и индивидуально, а также переводят данные слова. Задание - разделить слова на 2 группы: существительные и глаголы, а также выбрать и назвать слова, которые могут быть и существительным и глаголом.

III.     Речевая разминка

-    Now we shall play a game, and you will make up the word combinations with these words.

Игра «Составь предложение» (слова из предыдущего этапа урока)

IV.     Активизация материала текста «Последний дюйм». Проверка домашнего задания

-                    It's time to open your textbooks, page 161, exercise 1. Look through the story "The Last Inch" and finish my sentences. Let's read some parts of the text aloud one by one and then you will translate them.

Вспомнить текст из учебника, упр. 69, стр. 84-86. Задание для учащихся - прослушать предложе­ния учителя и закончить их соответственно содержанию рассказа.

Зачитывают и переводят некоторые части рассказа из упр. 70, стр. 85-86.

Примерные предложения учителя:

1.   It was a stroke of luck when Ben was offered... (a job by the Commercial Television Stock Company).

2.    Davy was a shy quiet boy who... (had never been particularly loved by his parents).

3.   One day Ben was attacked by... (a huge tiger shark).

4.    He was lucky to get out of water, but... (his body was a bleeding mess).

5.  He had lost a lot of blood and... (was in and out of consciousness).

6.   Only once had Ben shown... (the boy how to fly a plane).

7.    He also explained the boy that it was the last inch above the ground... (that mattered if the plane was going to crash while landing or not).

VI.     Совершенствование навыков устной речи на материале текста

-                     Will you open your textbooks, page 86, exercise 71? Read the following statements and agree or disagree with them. You may read the sentences from the story to prove your opinion. Divide into pairs and start your work.

упр. 71, стр. 86.

VII.    Формирование навыков монологической речи

-                     The next task for you is exercise 72, page 86. You will work in pairs and discuss the questions about Ben and Davy. Your time is up. Who will read the first question and answer it? Do you have the same opinion? Would you like to share your ideas? Why do you think so?

упр. 72, стр. 86 из учебника: учащиеся делятся на пары и обсуждают вопросы из дан­ного упражнения. Время выполнения задания в парах - 3 минуты.

VIII.   Обучение описанию персонажей текста

-        It's time to open your textbooks, exercise 73, page 86. Who will read the task? Complete the following sentences with the words from the box. You have a minute to look through the sentences and then we shall listen to your ideas.

упр. 73, стр. 86 из учебни­ка. Сначала учащиеся разбирают задание из данного упражнения и в течение 2-3 минут составляют рассказ самостоятельно, а затем представляют свои рассказы перед классом.

IX.  Подведение итогов урока

Домашнее задание

Рабочая тетрадь: упр. 12, 13,стр. 34-35.
