:”The theme of our lesson is «SPORT IN MY LIFE». Today we’re going to speak about sport not only in our life, but also about the brief history of the Olympic games, about sport in different countries. We’ll check our grammar, you will read and find some information and at the end of our lesson I shall see who has any problems with grammar, with reading, with speaking and so on.

Основные задачи и цели:
развитие навыков диалогической и монологической устной речи по теме
урока;
контроль выполнения домашнего задания;
закрепление грамматического материала «Косвенная речь» в устной и
письменной речи;
воспитание положительного отношения к спорту;
обучение чтению с целью поиска заданной информации.
Оборудование и материалы: учебники, рабочие тетради, картинки с
изображением спортивной игры и болельщиков, задания по чтению, карточки
для слабых учащихся по теме «Косвенная речь».
The plan.
I.Organising moment.
T:”Good morning dear girls and boys. I am glad to see you. Sit down, please. Who is
absent today? Are all present? All right.
Today we have some guests at our lesson. They are very nice ladies. Let me introduce
them to you. Children say that they are glad to see them.
T:”The theme of our lesson is «SPORT IN MY LIFE». Today we’re going to speak
about sport not only in our life, but also about the brief history of the Olympic games,
about sport in different countries. We’ll check our grammar, you will read and find
some information and at the end of our lesson I shall see who has any problems with
grammar, with reading, with speaking and so on.
II.Phonetic exercise (pupils answer the teacher’s questions).
T: 1) Do sport and physical training make people strong and healthy?
2) Why is it necessary to go in for sport?
3) Do you know which sports were invented in Britain? (football, golf,
cricket).
4) Where was golf invented?
5) Which sports are typical for all countries? (football, hockey,basketball)
6) Do you know which sports are typical or national in Britain, Russian and the?
7) Does sport help people to keep fit?
8) When were the last Olympic games? (2000)
9) Where were they held? (Sydney)
Well and now I want to listen your questions to each other and to me.
Pupils ask questions such as: What sport do you enjoy most?
What kind of sports do you go in for?
Do you take part in any sport competitions?
What sport do you like to play professionally?
Do you agree that football is one of the most popular types of sport all over the world?
Are you a football fan?
Would you like to play football (tennis)?
Do you know the history of football?
What is your favourite team?
Is it important to keep fit? How do people can do it?
III. The discussing of the pictures.
Pupils get two pictures, look at them and discuss them in relation to themselves. The
task is written on the blackboard.
Look at the pictures A and B. Compare and contrast these two pictures.
What do they have in common? What do you prefer: to go in for sports or to watch
sport events on TV or at the stadium?
IV. (Checking up the home task) The next part of our lesson is your reports. But
before we start, Jack and Kira will get cards with their task.
T:”Jack and Kira did you understand your task? Please, do it in your copybooks.”
And we will listen about the brief history of the Olympic games. I know that Sergey
has prepared the report about it. Am I Right? Are you ready? Please, tell us about it
and everybody will listen to you.
T:”Who can add something?”(the next pupil continue this theme)
After listening the reports the reporters ask questions.
Checking up the grammar «Reported speech». One of the pupil retells what he or she
have listened.
And other group of pupils prepares their reports as the interview (Vera, Dan, Sayar). T:”Who can tell us what did they say?”
Other pupils tell about sport the same way.
V.Reading with finding out the special information.
Pupils get the cards with small 8 texts. They must read them and find out which kind
of sport allows the next things. These sentences are written above the texts.
VI.The last part of our lesson is the QUIZE about Australia and the Olympic games.
You must write the write answers.
VII.Home task: ex.1 p. 196197; p.198 answer the questions.
