для учащихся 9 класса
Викторина «Британские СМИ»

Цель: обобщить материал по теме «СМИ», повторить тематический
лексический материал, развивать навыки говорения
Задачи:
обучающие:
повторить и систематизировать лексический материал;
закрепить разговорные навыки
развивающая:
развивать монологическую и диалогическую речь
развивать языковую догадку
воспитательная:
развивать возможность самореализации средствами иностранного языка
Оснащение: раздаточный материал, мультимедийный проектор, компьютер
I. Организационный момент (7 мин.)
Ход мероприятия
Приветствие, сообщение целей: Hello, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you
today. We’re going to play the quiz that helps us to revise your knowledge
concerning British mass media.
Учитель просит учеников разделиться на две команды.
Речевая разминка: Now we are going to warmup a little bit. Look at the
screen. Here we see a definition of the term “mass media”, but it’s uncompleted.
So, let’s complete it. (slide 1)
Ok, you remembered what mass media is. Now answer the following
questions. (slide 2)
Before we’re starting our quiz, you should complete the given mind map:
firstly in groups, then you’ll read your variants and after that we’ll see my variant.

Round 1
So, we start our quiz and your first task will be the following: you should
answer the given questions. You will have 5 minutes. 1. Why do we say that the 20th century started the age of information?
2. Where does the news usually come from?
3. What inventions help the news travel very fast?
4. Which of the modern media can we listen to, watch, both listen and
watch, or interact with?
5. Do you agree that modern world is getting smaller nowadays because of
the development of mass media? Make your comments.
Round 2
Task 1. Now we start the second round and you get the first task: match the nouns
with their definitions. You’ll have 5 minutes.

1. A business of preparing and printing books, newspapers, magazines and making
them available to public.
2. A cassette with tape wound round it, used for recording sounds, pictures or
information.
3. The sending out of programmes on radio and television.

comments on different topics.
6. The action of providing smth, interesting or enjoyable for smb, or the process of
being provided with smth interesting or enjoyable.
7. The automatic collection of MP3 audiofiles from different sites on the Internet.
8. The main means of communication with large number of people, esp. television,
radio and newspapers.
Task 2. Ok, you’ll get the second task of the second round: complete the sentences
with the words from the previous task
1. British media has traditionally been based on the principle that it is s public
service.

3. Have you prepared anything to entertain your guests yet?
4. The event received excellent publishing coverage.
5. Have you recorded this song on the tape?
6. I read his comments in the blog yesterday.

Round 3 Now we’re going to start the last round. Be attentive doing the tasks.
Task 1.
