6.  FUTURE PLANS

I.When I was a pupil my parents, teachers, friends oftenasked

me about my future orofession.  2.Sometimes it is very difficult to give a definite answer because there are manу, trades and pro-feseiens.   3.A11 of them are  important and useful.   4. There are al-ways boys and girls who know very early what trade they will take

up.   5.And they prepare themselves to this trade.  6.Others are ready to take up a profession in which they can help other pe­ople. 7.Many children prefer to follow their parents'  example and take up their orofessions.8.As a rule, they know these pro-fessions better.9.There are some young people who choose only popular professions.I0.I  think it is not right to choose your fu­ture occupation this way.II.We must be interested in it and must be suited for it.I2 .As for me I decided to become a civil engi-neer.I3.I am sure it's one of the most useful and popular jobs. 14.Isn't it good to know how to 'design and build your own house and help other people to get a new comfortable flat?

15. Our teacher used to  say,"Just remember that what you are going to be tomorrow you are becoming today".  16.I followed her advice.  17.I want to become a good specialist in future.  18.I did my best to get good knowledge of all school subjects. 19.1 took optional  courses in Mathematics and Physics.   20.1 read books and magazines with special information about my future profession.  21. Last year I helped ray uncle to build his house and he taught me many useful  things.   22. This job is to my liking. 23.My parents approve my choice.

QUESTIONS   . I.What else, can help a young man to  choose a profession?

-Our school gives us politechnical knowledge.  We develop prac--tical  skills in training centres.

2.What traits of charaoter must you have or develop if you want
to become a good specialist?                        

-I think a good specialist must be well-educated,broadminded,    , intelligent, confident of himself,reserved,persistent.
