Во время мероприятия учащиеся могут попробовать себя в роли детективов, которые проводят расследования. Также в разработке представлены разнообразные задания в виде кроссворда, использования карточек, проведение анкеты и разнообразный дополнительный материал. Учащиеся развивают логическое мышление проводя разнообразные раскрытия преступлений. Можно использовать для учащихся старших классов.В разработке представлен материал для развития логического мышления учащихся. На заседании детективов ребята закрепляют лексику, проводят расследования, разгадывают кроссворд и выполняют разнообразные задания.

«Заседание клуба детективов на Бейкер стрит»
Objectives:
1.Pupils will be able to check their own progress in vocabulary.
2.Pupils will develop selfevaluation skills, as a part of study skills.
3.Pupils will practise integrating skills.
4.Pupils will be able to discuss detective stories.
Materials: emblems, cards, pictures, portraits of famous detectives.
Портреты и картины известных детективов развешены по классу. Всем
участникам нужно сделать эмблемы:

Звучит музыка из кинофильма о Шерлоке Холмсе.
I.
Teacher: “Hi, Detectives! Welcome to our Baker Street Club. Today we’ll try to
investigate some cases, do some puzzles and at the end of our meeting we’ll
know who the best detective is.
Now let’s begin our brain training. Look at the crossword and guess the words. a)Ученики разгадывают кроссворд:
1.The English for преступник.
2.To discover a fact or a piece of information.
3.The English for улика.
4.Sherlock Holmes’ profession.
5.To think that somebody is guilty of a crime when there is not enough
evidence yet.

II.
Teacher: “Well, Detectives ... Watch the play “The case of the stolen ruby,” and
say who the thief is.” Ruby рубин Power- электричество Turn off-

Writer: It was a cold winter moming.Mr. Kunkel, the director
of the museum, opened the door and saw that a red ruby,
was stolen. He called the detective.
Detective: «Hey there! What happened?
Kunkel: The stolen ruby was a very expensive red ruby.
Detective: I would like to interview everyone who was here
last night. Kunkel: Only Martha, my cleaning lady and I
were here last night. Detective: Well first I'll start with you.
Can you tell me what you did last time.
Kunkel: Well,first I said good night to Martha. Then I turned
off all the power. Martha is very honest.
Detective: Could you please tell her to come here. I'd like
to ask her about last night.
Martha: What's the problem, Detective Jones?
Detective: Well, someone has stolen the red ruby. Did you
see anything unusual last night.
Martha: I saw Judy parking her car when I left. She said she
was going to check her computer.
Detective: OK, thank you. Could please call Judy? I'd like to
ask her some questions.
Judy: What happened?
Detective: The red ruby was stolen last night. Where were
you last night? Judy: 1 came back in office to check my
computer, then I went home. Detective: Was there anything
unusual?
Judy: No, 1 can't remember.
Writer: Detective Jones called the police and told them to
send some policemen to arrest the thief.
Учащиеся высказывают свои предположения о том, кто может быть вором и
стараются объяснить их.
III. Аудирование рассказа:
Once there was a great exhibition of jewelleries in the
town. Among all the exhibits there was the most expensive
ring with a diamond, which was the rarest in the world. Mr.
Black decided to visit this exhibition with his wile. Coming
to the exhibition they examined all the exhibits very
attentively. The most interesting was the ring with diamond. Next day Mr. Black was going to work past the
museum. He noticed many people near the police cars. He
decided to know what had happened and came into the
museum. He came to the director and asked: “What
happened?”
“The ring with diamond was stolen from our museum. If we
don’t find it, something terrible will happen. I am sure that
the police can’t find it. We need a detective. May be you
know anybody?” said the director.
“You are lucky! I am the best detective in our town. I’ll find
the ring. Yesterday I visited the exhibition with my wife and
noticed a strange man in black gloves. But it is necessary
to examine the crime scene”- said the detective.
Then the detective asked: “ What do you usually do before
closing the museum?” The director answered: “First, all
visitors leave museum, the guard controls all the exhibits
and the cleaning lady washes the tloor. Then I close the
museum myself.” Then the detective came to the place
where the ring had been before.
“It’s very strange,”- he thought. “Where is this puddle
from?- he asked, pointing to the puddle on the lloor before
the shelf. It was very hot during the day and at night and
nobody could leave these steps.
Next day the detective decided to visit the museum again.
He examined everything very attentively and noticed some
steps in the corridor. “It is a clue!” - he thought and went
along the corridor. I le came to the bucket with dirty water.
He understood everything.
Then the detective invited the director, the guard and the
cleaning lady.
“I know who the thief is”- said the detective and began his
story. “First 1 thought that the thief is guard because he
was in the museum all night and could steal the ring, but
then I saw some steps on the floor and came to the bucket
and pushed it and then I saw a ring with diamond in the water. Here is this ring,” and the detective gave the ring to
the director. After that he turned to the cleaning lady and
asked: “Why did you do this?”
The cleaning lady told everything.

Teacher: “Dear, Detectives! We’d like to know about your new investigations.”

Teacher: “Now, Detectives, you’ll get a piece of paper, guess the code, read and
translate the words.” (Ученикам выдаются карточки):

Teacher: “Detectives! Let’s watch the second play “The Diamonds” and answer
the question “Why do you think the millionaire disappeared?”
A: An elegant man entered a famous jewellery shop.
M: I want to buy a diamond for my wife’s birthday. The
price doesn’t matter.
J: Here they are. Choose, please.
M: Well, I’ll buy this one, which costs 3 thousand dollars.
J: Ok. Take, please. Good-bye.
M: Good-bye. A: A week later.
M: My wife liked the diamond so much and she wanted
another one just like this. But it had to be exactly the
same size and quality, as she wanted to make a pair of
earrings.
J: I would say it’s impossible to find an exact diamond.
And even if we could find it, it would cost you a lot of
money.
M: I promise to pay you 20 thousand dollars for the matching
diamond.
A: The jeweller put an advertisement in a newspaper. Many
people came to him, but nobody had a diamond that was
right. But one day a beautiful young lady came into the
shop. And she showed the perfect diamond to the jeweler.
L: I hate the idea of parting with this diamond. I
inherited it from my mother, and my mother inherited
it from hers. But I really need money.
J: Very well. I’ll pay you 10 thousand dollars for this diamond.
L: Thank you very much. Good-bye.
A: The jeweller phoned the millionaire’s hotel. But the
millionaire could not be found. He disappeared.
VII.
Teacher: “Look at this picture attentively, read the story and gess: “Who is the
criminal in this case?” (Картинку отсканировать и вывести на доску с помощью
проектора)
“A Burglary.” VIII.
Teacher: “And now, Detectives, let’s check who the best Detective is.”
( ученики отвечают на вопросы анкеты “The Best Detective”.) IX. Звучит музыка из кинофильма о Шерлоке Холмсе.
Teacher: “Now our meeting is over. Thank you very much that you visited our club
and took an active part in our work.
