The "Lenin Square" station was renamed "Republic Square."
Oktemberyan" station was renamed "Zoravar Andranik,

Also in 1983 the station "Saralandzhi" was renamed in honor of the Soviet commander, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Khristoforovich Baghramyan.
The first section "Friendship" - "David Sasunsky" with 4 stations was opened on March 7, 1981. Today it includes 1 line with a length of 13.4 km and 10 stations.
