Act I

Narrator: Once there lived a Little Red Hen in a farmyard with three little chicks and a Duck, a Pig and a Cat.

One day the Little Red Hen found some grains of wheat.

Little Red Hen: Look! Look! Who will help me plant this wheat?

Duck: Not I!

Pig: Not I!

Cat: Not I!

And they run away.

Little Red Hen: Then I will plant it myself.

She plants the grains herself.

Act II

Narrator: Soon the wheat was ready to cut.

Little Red Hen: Hey, who will help me to cut the wheat?

Duck: Not I!

Pig: Not I!

Cat: Not I!

Little red Hen: Then I will cut the wheat myself

And she cuts the wheat herself.

Act III

Narrator: And now it was the time to take the wheat to the miller and grind the wheat into flour.

Little Red Hen: My friends! Who wants to help me?

Duck: Not I!

Pig: Not I!

Cat: Not I!

Act IV

Narrator: The Little Red Hen came to the miller and returned with a sack of white flour.

Little Red Hen: Well, dear! Who will help me to make the dough?

Duck: Not I!

Pig: Not I!

Cat: Not I!

And they begin to play hide-and seek.

Act V

Narrator: So the Little Red Hen made the dough herself.

Little Red Hen: Hey, will you help me to bake the bread?

Duck: Not I!

Pig: Not I!

Cat: Not I!

And they run out

Act VI

Narrator: Soon the bread was ready. Little Red Hen took I from the oven and asked :

Little Red Hen: Well, who will help me to eat this warm fresh bread? Duck: I will!

Pig: I will!

Cat: I will!

Little Red Hen: No, you won’t. You didn’t help me to plant the seeds, to cut the wheat, to go to the miller, to make the dough and to make the bread. So my three chicks and II will eat this bread ourselves!

Narrator: the Little Red Hen and her chicks ate the bread and were very happy.

The Duck, the Pig and the Cat sat on the bench. They were very sad and hungry.
