Цели урока

·         Цель образовательная: развитие социокультурной компетенции по теме «A dream trip to London» (Виртуальное путешествие по Лондону);

·         Цель воспитательная: формировать у  учащихся уважение и интерес к культуре и населению Лондона;

·         Цель развивающая: развитие у учащихся навыков монологической и диалогической речи;

Цель практическая: учить учащихся выступать публично с подготовленным устным сообщением на заданную тему.

Задачи урока

1)Систематизировать и обобщить изученный материал по теме «A dream trip to London»;

2)Практиковать учащихся в употреблении артикля the и  изученных слов в речи;

3)Учить учащихся воспринимать иноязычную речь на слух.

Знания, умения, навыки и качества, которые актуализируют/приобретут/закрепят/др. ученики в ходе урока

В ходе урока ребята актуализируют страноведческие знания по теме Лондон, практикуют навыки монологической и диалогической речи, демонстрируют умение выступать перед классом, систематизируют знания употребления артикля the.

Необходимое оборудование и материалы

Компьютер, проектор, костюмы (Елизаветы 2, Бифитера, прохожих, премьер-министра), плакат с кроссвордом, карточки для рефлексии, книги и рабочие тетради.

-Good morning dear boys and girls, our guests and teachers! Glad to meet you here!

-Good morning teacher!

-Sit down, please!

-Dear boys and girls, today we have an unusual lesson. We are going to make a dream trip to London. Today at the lesson we must revise the material about the most famous sights of London. Today we will work over development of dialogical speech — we will ask questions and give answers. You will tell us some information about famous sights of London and not only.

-Now, please, write down the date and the topic of our lesson is «A dream trip to London».(слайд 1)

Let’s start our lesson. We shall start our lesson with the English sounds. Remember words each sound on the theme “ Traveling”.(слайд 2)

[q] – square, quiet, quick

Jim and Tim met after holidays. When they met, Jim had many questions to the friend.

Read Tim's answers and tell, what questions asked Jim.

-Welcome to London!

-As you know, London is one of the largest cities in the world. About eight million people live here.(cлайд 7)

-The first our stop is Trafalgar Square. (слайд 8)

-Oh! Let's ask a passer-by Trafalgar Square!

-Excuse me, can you tell us something interesting about Trafalgar Square?

-Yes, certainly! Trafalgar Square is a geographical center of London. It’s the largest among London’s squares. On the column in the centre there is a statue of Admiral Nelson who defeated the French at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

-Sorry. As I know there is the National Gallery here. (слайд 8)

-Yes, the main building of Trafalgar Square is the National Gallery with its facade in neo-classical style. It has a fine collection of European paintings.

- Oh! Look! Elisabeth 2 meets us! Good morning!

-Good morning boys and girls! Glad to see you here! Welcome to Buckingham Palace! This is my home. Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the British monarch. When the flag is flying on the top it means that I am at home!

-Can you tell us something about Westminster Abby? (слайд 10)

-Yes, With a great pleasure! It is a royal church. Here you can see the tombs of the many British kings and queens and other famous people and the beautiful Henry VII  Chapel.

-Let’s go to the next interesting place! We are at the Houses of Parliament! (слайд 11)

-Oh! Look! A prime-minister Gordon Brown goes to us!

- Oh! Excuse me! Mr. Brown can you tell us something about the Houses of Parliament!

-Oh! The Houses of Parliament is the seat of the British government. There are two chambers in British Parliament: the House of Lords and the House of Commons.But I work in Downing Street 10.(слайд 12)

-Oh! Look! Big Ben! Tell us please about Big Ben! .(слайд 13)

- Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock. Big Ben is the largest clock tower in the world. It celebrated its 150th anniversary in May of this year. Sorry, but I must go to work! Send regards to Mr. Putin!

-Thank you Mr. Brown!

-And now I invite you to walk by the most famous parks of London! London is very rich in parks and gardens. (слайд 13)

-Here you can see Greenwich Park, Kensington Gardens, Regent’s Park and Hyde Park. Let’s ask somebody about Hyde Park. .(слайд 14)

- Oh! can you tell us something about Hyde Park?

-Yes, I can. Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in central London and one of the Royal Parks of London. Hyde Park became the first public garden. It is known for its Speaker’s Corner, where everyone can stand up and say what he wants.

Do you remember who is it?

-This is a Beefeater!

-Yes, you are right! Now I am as a tour guide here! You can see the Tower of London from the river Thames. The Tower is very old.  It was a fortress, a Royal palace and a prison, but now it’s a museum. The ravens are another famous sight and without them the Tower will fall.

-Thank you very much for your story!

-And the last our points are Tower Bridge and London eye. Let’s ask somebody about Tower Bridge! .(слайд 16)

- can you tell us something about Tower Bridge?

-Oh! Of course dear Russian Friends! The bridge consists of two towers which are tied together. It has become an iconic symbol of London.

-And this is the London Eye! It is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe. Over three million people visited the London eye in one year!

На слайде вы видите табличку, перечертите её в тетрадь и распределите изображенные на слайде слова в колонки. Либо они употребляются с артиклем the, либо нет.
